  1. Hi Andy, I think this is a great tutorial! Thanks for sharing. This might be it for me. But currently I have the Designer V1 sitting outside Publisher V2. So, I suppose I will need to upgrade and connect the personas first.
  2. That's what I thought too, and attempted the same on Designer. It didn't work there as well. I don't have Photo. I managed to get the output I wanted by using the mockup vendor's online editor.
  3. If you would like to play around with the template and see if it's working for you, you can download a free version here: https://www.mockupcloud.com/scene/square-brochure-spread-mockup-scene-01
  4. Yes, that's exactly what I did, and it wouldn't open that object in a new window for me to place the image. When I double-click, it just zooms in extremely closely See attached. So, what I am doing is: 1. Double-click the page icon (like you did) 2. On the enlarged/zoomed page, I PLACE the image (drop and drag) 3. The image is within the page, but since the image is a strict square and the mockup page is curved, I cannot get it to fit. So, as I drag it around to find by pulling the edges, things get cut off. See 2nd image attached. Is there a way, I can get the image to just to "fill" up?
  5. I have an Adobe PSD template of the inside of a book mockup. I am trying to place an image into the page, but I can't get it to fill that page. When I place an image, and drag and rotate it around, it won't position properly or words/illustrations get cut off. The PSD instructions for Photoshop says: Select Smart Object > Layer > Smark Objects > Edit Contents And basically you place the image in it, and it takes the shape of the page. How do I do it in Affinity Publisher 2?
  6. I wonder why would a cursor outside cause an issue. Is it that the space is being read as a character? I deleted the space, and the blue triangle is still there. Let me see what KDP says.
  7. Yes, I am going to ignore it and see what happens. I did resize the text (to small) and squeezed the Text Frame a bit more. This old link has some info: The meanings of all the icons are here: https://affinity.help/publisher/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Text/frameText.html&title=Frame text
  8. Do I need to worry about this little triangle appearing on the margins? I don't have it on any other pages. Also, this is the only page that is causing rejection on Amazon KDP as well. What do I need to do to remove that triangle?
  9. oh no, thank you Alfred. Much appreciated. It would've been good to have this option because when you are creating illustrated ebooks for Kindle, you have to use individual images so that you have an image on a screen. Otherwise, it seems to show 2 pages on a screen.
  10. Affinity Publisher V2 Is there a way to export multiple pages in a document, as a single PDF? What I mean is - I have 31 pages in my book and I want 31 single PDF files extracted at a go. At the moment, I have to select each page and then extract.
  11. I solved it! The issue was with the EXPORT settings > it was set to ALL SPREADS rather than ALL PAGES. Upon change, it's working! Woohoo :0
  12. Hi, I am creating a kid's picture book and as per my affinity publisher setup, it has 32 pages. Page 1: Title page Page 2: Copyright info Page 3: Dedication Pages 4 - 31: illustration per page (each page has 1 PNG image containing 2 images to spread over 2 pages) Page 32: Empty white page But it's getting rejected by Amazon KDP with the following error: What am I doing wrong with my page setup? Currently, I have a 2-page master file, so the pages are next to each other, as you would see in a book. I think the technical word is, "spread". Looks like KDP is reading it as 1 page, and hence 17 pages. I am still a newbie to Affinity and indie-authoring but the last 2 books I practiced on, was pretty much the same setup (2 pages view) and everything was fine. Looking forward to hearing from you and thank you
  13. Thank you all for the fantastic tutorial! Much appreciated. So, it looks like I can crop into 1/2 within an existing project? My project is a book with illustrations spread across the pages. Anyway, I managed to get single files for each page of illustrations from my artist.
  14. I am creating a children's book and each page has a full illustration. My artist provided the images for a spread as a single PNG image - meaning 2 images (meant for 2 pages) on a single png. I want to cut/crop them into 2 separate individual files. How do I do that on Affinity Publisher? I used the crop tool but it's deleting 1 page while deleting the other. I just want a simple cut through the middle. Thank you
