[Turning off auto glyph insert]

I am creating a publisher document and typed the word management. Problem is the "gem" glyph, which I don't want.

Can someone tell me how to turn this off. I've tried a few things to no avail. I will never want the gem glyph so would prefer to delete it if I can.
