Mgn got a reaction from BBG3 in Photoshop mockups!
    Hi,
I have the same problem with all the smart objects in mockups (psd files). In addition appears all the smart objects like broken:

I'm new user with Affinity (I didn't use 1.8 or previous version) so, I'm not sure if that is normal or what... As Designer1 says, working with that a properly work is not possible.
How is it possible fix it?

Hi. I've tried to use mockups with the last 2 updates, version 1.9.2 and 1.9.3, and I have a lot of problems with mockups and smart objects.  It's true that sometimes the file works fine, but time to time it's not possible to work with files with smart objets. Is it known if it will be fixed in future 1.9 updates ...? Thank you.

If you apply a colour to a bitmap image, it recolours the bitmap. If K-Only is off, then we use an HSL algorithm to recolour that preserves black. It has always worked for RGB8 documents but wasn't implemented for other colour models. It now works for every colour model, including CMYK.
If K-Only is on, then we use a different algorithm to recolour which produces tints of the colour you apply. This doesn't look as good visually, but if the colour is a Spot, it can be exported to PDF on a single colour plate. This is important for some people. If you toggle K-Only on and off, you should see the difference: without K-Only, 100% black parts of the image remain 100% black, and with it they become 100% tint of the colour you applied.
You can also recolour to a gradient. The visual effect with/without K-Only is what you'd expect given the above, but currently it will convert to process colours during PDF export.

We are pleased to announce an update for the MacOS release of Affinity Designer, to version 1.9.2
The detailed changes in Affinity Designer for MacOS 1.9.2 over the release build Affinity Designer for macOS 1.9.1 are as follows:
    Fixes & Improvements:
Fixed Stock Panel retrieval for Unsplash A few fixes for opening documents which contain embedded documents. Fix for dragging an asset which contains an artboard into the document. Fix for exporting large images occasionally failing. Fix for insta-crash encountered in the Vector Brush tool on 'Undo' action. Fix for inability to create a new Object Style if the only difference was a property of the stroke. Added support for OpenType reverse chaining contextual single substitutions. Significant performance improvements for assets (import, export, organisation, etc.). Typography panel performance improvements.- Fix for Assets and Symbols transforming greatly when dragged onto resized artboards. Small fixes for occasional misbehaviour of placed PDFs. Fix for OpenAsset issues. Misc fixes for My Account feature and content downloads. Fixed an occasional problem with the New Document dialog not showing content after tabbing away to another app and back again. Renamed the export area options to something more friendly (on the Export dialog). Misc visual fixes for menu items that were not the correct (app) colour scheme. Various stability improvements and assorted other small fixes. Help and Localisation improvements Changes and fixes in 1.9 made since 1.8.x (including the new 1.9 features) are listed in some detail in this 1.9.0 Designer macOS update announcement

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, Affinity Designer > About).
If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Designer for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac App Store purchases and needs a product key).

    For me it works on:
PDF SVG if switched immediately via PDF > More > File Format EPS if switched immediately via PDF > More > File Format JPEG if switched immediately via PDF > More > File Format In other words, to save e.g. a JPEG preset:
File > Export PDF > More > File Format: JPEG > make your JPEG settings Manage Presets > Create Preset El Capitan, APu 1.9.1 Serif Store version

    Hi,
I'm new user with affinity photo, so I didn't use previous version of the program.
I'm triying to open a file (.psd) with smart objetc inside. In all cases, when I open the file in Affinity Photo, the smart object appears with a problem like here:

Apparently, the program does not respect the proportions and display of the smart object. That is why it is not possible to modify it and work with the document.
As you can see, the problem is the same with Affinity photo files , where the original document modifies the smart object as well:

I suppose that the option should be work, like this https://affinity.serif.com/es/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/393648146/
I tried with different kind of files with smart objects, and always appears the problem.
I can see that other people have the same issue:
    In Windows too:
Could be possible to fix that?
Thanks and have a nice day!

Hello, I have the same problem!
I am new with Affinity Photo and I thought it was normal with psd files...
Could someone indicate how to fix it?

As said, this is certainly an unwanted behaviour then. I'd report it in the bugs' section so the devs can have a look into it.

    Serif Store version:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher/presets/com.seriflabs.Studio.Preset.Data2Layout-tab.YOUR_PRESET_NAME.preset
    App Store version:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher/Data/Library/Application Support/presets/com.seriflabs.Studio.Preset.Data2Layout-tab.YOUR_PRESET_NAME.preset
… and correspondingly similar paths to Designer and Photo app support folders.
Copy these presets to the other Mac and place them into the corresponding folder. I haven't tested it yet – my v1.9 is installed on a different partition so I'd have to reboot the Mac right now – but it should work.
