  1. Thanks again v_kyr. I think there might be something here I can work with.
  2. Thanks v_kyr. I am well aware of those tools but none of them are aware of the actual depth, whereas in my example of using a depth map generated from the 3D software we can make images depth aware. New versions of PS now have A.I. to help determine actual depth of an image, but I am not interested in getting stuck in the Adobe ecosystem. The method I outlined is very common in the 3D application space when combined with compositing applications such as After Effects, Fusion, Nuke and HitFilm. But for quick still imagery the Photoshop method is ideal and I would love to be able to do the same in AP.
  3. I've posted this back in December but I thought I would give it another go in hopes that a user might be able to shed some light on this but also I am hoping that someone from Affinity will see this and comment as to when some of these capabilities may be coming AP2. So on with it - I currently use PS CS6 for DOF effects from 3D render still images and I was wondering how to do the same in AP2. I've attached a YouTube link to share the process in CS6 and hope to be able to do something similar in AP2 but for the life of me cannot figure out the recipe. I'm hoping somebody here would know the secret. I've also attached files! https://youtu.be/vmTn_zcohwI
  4. So sorry to hear this. I thought that maybe AP2 with all the new mask modes might have a way. I do hope they can add this at some point as well as some of the other AI features that PS has received over the last few months.
  5. Yeah I get this but I want to use a depth pass from my rendering package to isolate the effect to the depth of the image. The video I posted shows what I am looking for.
  6. I would also love to have this feature in AP so I can get rid of PS cs6 from my PC.

  8. No the Live Liquify works fine. Live filters stress out my PC especially when I get a lot of them. I rely more on copying layers and applying filters than using Live filters.
  9. I've been saving as PSD's if someone else needs the file. I also was having an issue with the Liquify Persona being super slow (non-usable) in AP2 so I saved my document as a PSD and loaded it into AP1 and used the Liquify Persona to get the job done.
  10. As the title says. What I used to do in AP1 with the Liquify Persona is sheer aggravation in AP2. Basically it is not usable. To get the job done it's back to AP1.
  11. Like I said above my issue has been resolved with the purchase of a larger thumb drive. 😀 Just make a note of the issue and relay it to the devs. 😃 Thanks
  12. Well saving to USB drives is a an everyday occurrence for a lot of people and no other application I use has issues with it. If this issue has been reported repeatedly it seems that they must be aware of the issue and the expectation would be at some point they correct it. I have since upgraded my USB drive to a larger size so running out of space should be mitigated. I agree that saving to internal drive is most likely best, but as I mentioned earlier working a hybrid work situation working from a portable drive makes a lot of sense and it has worked out just fine until this point of running out of space on the drive.
