I have had the same issue with Affinity Photo just shutting down. After several days of trying to resolve the issue I have resorted to re-installing the previous version (1.85). A word of caution if you do this, any work you have done and saved using any of the new features in the latest version (1.9) will prevent the file opening in the previous version (1.85). However after saying that, it is much better working with the old version without this bug and I am content to wait until these bugs have been fixed before going onto version (1.9).

I have the same issue, after 5-10 minutes of editing a photo, Affinity Photo just shuts down. This has happened approximately 6 times over the last few days. to say it is frustrating is an understatement.
