  1. I was wondering if I can open this thread up again. I am now using AP more and find that some processing is slow. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor GPU AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Driver version 21.10.2 As above I turned off OCL to allow AP to open my PNGs. I need to try OCL again for ARW/JPG files, but now when I go into the menu to turn it back on it says I can not. Any suggestions? Many Thanks. MarkB
  2. Thanks for the reply. Sorry if it was a newbie question as I dont do this for a living. Indeed the Windows Colour System Defaults: Default profile: is System default (sRGB IEC61966-2.1) But that would seem to be for when windows needs a profile for its and programs internal workings. The colour management settings correctly has my monitors with the right profile for that monitor. (the one I have to manually set it to, to make it work). So why does affinity not select the monitor the image is on and use the profile for that? After all affinity is displaying the image, not working with it internally. I also note that other programmes dont use System default, so they must be using the display profile. So yes I could change windows 10 default but is that not slightly wrong? Thanks for any further comments on this. MarkB
  3. Hi, When working with a file that has no ICC explicitly in the file format or metadata, I expect to be able to load it and see RGB(255,255,255) as white as the monitor is showing white. I can then assign an ICC and export as needed. However if I try the file open 'assumes' an attached sRGB which I read is there because Web apps will also make the asumption. But that is not very useful for users that want to see the file as it is or even work without sRGB for a real reason (EG the rest of the flow will take care of it). Is there a way to open files and see them as they are without the assumption about what ICC to use? I tried all the combinations, including the work space being the ICC of the monitor but that does not work either. The only way to make it work is to have the work space as sRGB and manually (after file open) do: Document->Assign ICC Profile->[Monitor ICC] which is clearly very tedious when wanting to just 'see the image'. Thanks MarkB
  4. Thanks MarkI, >The initial delay on the first load is to be expected, as we need to initialise the hardware, but following loads in the same application session should be quicker. I also expect OCL init and kernel compile to take time (grin). I think we can close this one. I will raise another one for PNG ICC Profiles... MarkB
  5. MarkI, Sorry , the logs have been over written. But this is a the report for the newer/working OCL drivers. MarkB Name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing Vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 6. Chris, It was open one file at a time from File Open. i updated to GPU drivers to 20.11.2 and it now works. There is still a 3 sec delay on the first png, but then others load quickly. But perhaps not a quick as CPU loading? I think for my use, I should leave OCL off. Thanks Mark
  7. I tried HW acceleratiopn and found that renderer is OK to leave on but OCL needs to be turned off. It is now much faster too. GPU AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 20.9.1
  8. I just purchased Photo and Designer and cant load two pngs. It does "not responding" and I have to kill the app. I have tried several PNGs and they are tiny files. Any suggestions? Can I use the older version or get a refund?
