  1. I'm not a computer whiz. If I disable CL acceleration, what performance factors and other programs unrelated to Affinity might be affected?
  2. I'm sure they're working on fixes as quickly as they can. It's to their advantage to have a product that works as it should. In the meantime, be grateful for 1.8.5.
  3. Thanks. I did that just before opening your response and will attempt now to install 1.8.5. And...(a few minutes later) Success! Happy camper again.
  4. Did you have to uninstall 1.9 first, or were you able to overwrite it? I've tried to install 1.8.5 three times from that source and have failed every time with the message that a newer version is available.
  5. Good luck with that, Gail. I've tried several times to re-install 1.8.5, and both times the effort has failed because I've already installed 1.9. If there's a work-around, I'd love to know it. The easiest fix right now would be for Affinity to enable users to go back to an earlier version until 1.9's bugs are worked out. I've learned a lesson. Never download the newest update until checking Affinity forums to ensure that others are aren't having problems.
  6. Until the many. many bugs in version 1.9 are fixed, I wish Affinity would give us the option to re-install 1.8.5. I'd rather have something that works and that I can rely upon than new features I may never use. I've been a big fan, but this is very disappointing. Hello, Serif/Affinity, are you listening?
  7. I'm having the same problem with the focus merge function since updating to 1.9. I've tried several different stacks, and the result is the same: the bottom fourth of the screen is blank (black), often with colorful artifacts along the boundary between the blank bottom and useable portion of the final image. Until this bug is fixed, is there any way I can revert back to 1.8.6? I can't find an option to download any previous versions, including1.8.6, anyplace on the Affinity website. It's all about the latest and greatest, whose glitches prevent me from doing what I need to do. This is a real inconvenience.
