OK I have it figured out....thanks for the help!

I have drawn a rectangle, then clicked on the dashed line in stroke, but it doesn't change the rectangle to a dashed line.

Is it possible to draw a rectangle or circle with a dashed line instead of solid? If so, how do I do it?

I finally got the assets panel to show up. Now there is another problem...the tools panel, instead of being on the left side and in single column, appears as a separate detached panel which "covers up" a part of the assets panel. Can't figure out how to get it back to its original default position (single column on the left side of the assets panel).

I did that, all the items appear faded out, and there is a check mark by assets

The assets panel in Affinity Publisher has disappeared and I can't find a way to get it back. I'm a newbie, please help.

The old DrawPlusX3 had a tool which allowed you to type a word or line of text, then shape it where the letters in the middle of the word were larger than those at the beginning or end, thereby creating a "bow" effect. I can't find a way to do this with Affinity Designer. Any help or comments are appreciated.

I'm used to working with PagePlus X6. Affinity Designer is so different. How do I draw a rectangle and adjust its line width and style (solid line, dashed line etc.)? OK I followed everyone's advice, it prints out to the line thickness I set it to, but on the drawing it only shows it as a very thin line. How do I get it to show on the drawing with the set line thickness?

Just purchased Affinity Designer, downloaded it, but when I click OPEN, it gives me a screen with two choices, Repair or delete. No start up icon shows. Please help.
