  1. I realise my knowledge on file formats is very poor, so forgive me if the question is a stupid one... I have a process that works today so I haven't previously needed to worry! (Yes, I'm almost certainly muddling dpi and ppi too!) The printing company that I use request that the work I send (always a single page document) is TIFF, 300dpi. To do this in my current Adobe world I save a 300dpi pdf from InDesign. I then open it in Photoshop, scaling it to the size that I want as the pdf is opened. I do nothing to it except save it to TIF (with image compression LZW). That file goes to the printer. If I am to move to Affinity world (fingers crossed) I can't yet see how to achieve the same. I have opened the file (IDML) in Publisher and have used the Export to TIFF option - but the resulting file is 192ppi, and I don't see how to alter it. I'd really appreciate some help thank you.
  2. Thank you so much! It all makes sense (and I've still got InDesign for now too). Is it true that I need to buy the software before I can access the Beta, or can I somehow have a play with Data Merge in my trial version?
  3. Please bear with me if this is a stupid question.... I'm very new to Affinity.... I have started a free trial of Publisher, and am definitely looking to make the move from InDesign. One of the features which is critical to me (for my "real work") is Data Merge. If I understand, it does exist, but only in Beta. To access a Beta version I need to be a paid up user of the software (that's fine). It says earlier in this thread "we strongly recommend that you do not use this beta for real work". I'm unclear how long it takes before features in the beta become part of the main product, so that it is safe for real work.
