  1. Hi Paulm, another workaround is to move the layers (background) behind the artboard (outside the artboard group) – then those layers would become visible in the bleed area / outside artboad. Before printing or exporting you need to move those objects back to artboard group. But You don't need to create Your crop marks etc. However, none of this solutions is perfect… Rasterizeds object will still be cropped on that artboard :-/ (exporting could be buggy so the rasterization is must for print)
  2. Thanks for Your updates. I would like to ask about the fixes priorities: there are bugs for more then Year… reported… not fixed… like this one (and I could go on) I know this kind of bugs won't crash App from running… But It may „crash“ the user from being sane :-) In this case, see it every single day when creating new file… it's really annoying. Could You please add some timeout for not-important fixes and improvements to Your workflow? To prefer them? They may not be important to You, from developers point of view, but such fixes can keep Yours users happy and healthy… Keep us believe that You still listen to Your users… and that is something :-) Thank You
  3. And that is realy something Rasterize should not do. Exactly. We need whole layer be kept when rasterized (including areas out of canvas). This should be definitely renamed to rasterize & Trim to canvas or something.
  4. Correct! We will soon be dry and asking when again and again :-) (Perhaps not until the next Easter)
  5. I have found this question marked as dead, but is not dead for me (and anyone trying to use AD for press) Exporting single artboard with bleed works. But in tutorials of AD is suggested to create a design using multiple artboards, like the tri-fold leaflet. (the "Artboards: Exporting and Printing" tutorial, Bookcover tutorial) By tutorial, I should group them and the make a slice for the group and then export it as single page. But I am not be able to include a bleed at all, whatever I try. (and I was hoping for other benefits of this attitude as between artboards cropmarks to mark folding etc. :-/) Is there any workaround? Is there any way to export multiple artboards as a single page and keep the bleed? Or the autor of tutorial… maybe… never actually print anything :-) ? In that case I suggest to remake those tutorials or delete them as they may be quite missleading. Any suggestions would be very, vere, very much appreciated, thank you.
  6. Thanks for tutorial, I am familiar with DPI concept. Maybe I got it all wrong… but rectangle 300px x 300px should get exported as rectangle 300px x 300px, especialy as vector PDF. Not as 150px x 150px DPI should not get involved untill it is rastered or printed…
  7. Hi, I am just currious if this is bug or unexpected by design. I am currently designing app with icons. Those iccons has 24 x 12 px. Document is setup for retina display (144DPI). When I use export persona and create 24x12px slide on the icon, export it to PDF or PNG, it results to file with 12 x 6 px dimensions. Well, ok… I would expect original 24 x 12 px slice dimensions with proper DPI setting. When document settings is set to 72DPI, slice is exported as expected - 24 x 12px. When document setting is other than those DPI values (for example 300DPI, 108DPI etc.) I am getting blank images or something blurred… I don't see to much logic in this behaviour, but You may have some explination and advice how to get correct file size even for other then 72DPI documents? Thanks
  8. Agree. Like convert line to shape… Arrows on the lines and… pattern around path… vector pattern fills… and other basic vector sw operations :-( Those would make me happy. At least for while :-) Looking forward to 1.6!
  9. Yes, but I am not able to reproduce it :-/ It prints with the marks today. And the PDF saves with it as well.
  10. I am using A3+ Canon printer for first previews in studio. When printing on A3+ paper, AD (current MAS) does not print out crop and registration marks although they are selected in print dialog. Ups.
  11. Yes, I have proceed some debugging this morning. Files work fine when moved to HDD. The problem was that although my Nikon and Fuji is able to write the cards, my Macbook is not. To „fix“ this, I have locked and unlocked the card with the switch on the card. So the problem is not related to opening RAW files from card, the issue is that AP won't open the file form locked card, Photoshop does (and some other apps). However it is a rare scenario to open files directly from card, I usually transfer my photos to HDD.
  12. Opening photos in raw format (.nef) from SD card directly is not possible. AP says the card is read only medium (it is not). Anyone can confirm this? My conf: Macbook Pro 2012 SD Card is OK – system can read and write it, Photoshop opens the same files from the same card with no problems. Problem seems to be just with AP. Is this a bug or feature request?
  13. That is good tip and I practice it myself. However the issues with rasterization limit this option or make it at least… complicated. Objects positioned partialy out of artboard are clipped to artboard with rasterization. Even the parts in bleed area. And that really sucks as data You may need are lost. That means lot of repositioning before rasterizing… hopefully devs are gonna to fix those issues soon. And it is not possible to rasterize objects somewhere on canvas at all :-/
  14. Yes, I know about that info. I have recreated my current file from affinity (2,6GB) in Illustrator with the same PSDs etc. .ai has less then 305MB…
  15. Or linked images (another topics) could solve this? I have to agree that affinity designer files can get huge and slow when creating stuff for print.
  16. I hope it won't be just part of Publisher but Designer as well. I would wellcome the posibility of bottom text align for my poster designs. Even at a sooner date :-)
  17. Well, You can do that with sync/desync button and change text of symbol in one instance, similar to Sketch. However, the text style (color, font) is not synced anymore after that.
  18. Hello, simple question. I am opening files in Affinity Photo from Lightroom as PSDs. We can now save them as PSD, that works great (no export necesseary etc.). But Affinity Photo doesn't accept that as saved file. So when closing file, I'am getting prompt "File has not been saved yet". Althought File was saved. To PSD. Maybe AP should accept saving to PSD?
  19. Hi, I would like to know why document setup dialog show size of all artboard together (or some wierd dimenssions). Is in it a bit irelevant information? Shouldn't it show default artboard size, for example? This is propably related to quite strange previews in finder (see the screenshot), as the document keep those dimensions even the artboards are erased and preview is generated for those dimensions. So the preview shows a lot of blank space. More reasonable is to see the first artboard as preview for the file then those mixes, at least for me. And that could prevent this as well. Keeping the document dimensions after artboards are deleted and show this as preview is a bug… or I am missing something?
  20. Hi As I needed recently to work on the project in AP (my choice) with colleges with Photoshop CS6 (who work with that anymore, right?) we have run into a problem with layer masks exported from Affinity Photo. Thay appear as a rectangle in Photoshop, no matter what the original mask shape was in AP. See the screenshots. Happens to all layer masks created in AF exported to PSD.
  21. I have finally find the answer for this. If anyone interested… Channel panels shows color channels twice. See the screenshot. First set is called Composite XXX. Second set is visible only when only one layer is selected and show something like Pixel XXX. From this second set You can insert gray layer from context menu. But only from selected layer! You need to merge visible layers to get channels for whole image. Not comfy but possible. First set seems to show whole image channels, but there is no option to creta layer from channel :-/ Feature request? On the other hand You can get channel separations for specific layers.
  22. Is it possible to copy (for example) Yellow channel (from CMYK), and than paste it over image as a layer? Thanks for info
  23. There is a bug when mixing CMYK color for new pixel layer. Editing CMYK values by keyboard and moving with TAB key between fields always results 0 in the field, result is always gray (not 0-0-0-0 as displayed), not 95-84-3-70 as intended :-/ See attached video Editing color for rectangle layer works fine. color-mixing-bug.mov
  24. Some problems with print related to artboard naming: copying artboard should result in new artboard name for example: original-name-COPY-XY
