You don't have to download all those assets, of course, or don't have to download them via My Account. If you've turned on the option to download everything you can turn it off. (If the program is crashing before you can do that, you can do it by holding Ctrl while you start the application.)
The CTRL key seemed to do the trick. Hardware acceleration is off and using the CTRL key stopped all the downloads. I was able to get in and play around without any crash last night. Thanks so much for your attention. I will not download any of the assets for now until perhaps an interim fix.

Thanks. Have you disabled Hardware Acceleration as suggested above?
Yes I did.

If it's not actually crashing you won't get a crash report. Is there something consistent that you're doing just before it hangs?
If you have to use the Task Manager to close it, rather than choosing "End Task" you can expand the group by clicking on the arrow on the left, then right-click on the program and choose "Create dump file".
I open the program and whether I do nothing or I do something...it is just a matter of time before it hangs.

Hello,
this happens to me, too.
I read somewhere that it won't happen with previous versions so I loaded 2 previous versions but now they also crash after a few minutes of using affinity photo. It's very frustrating
How do I do a crash report?
thanks in advance!
See the other post about creating a dump file. I don't think that is an "official" crash report but I guess it gives them some info.

I start Publisher up and multiple assets start downloads. All I have to do is wait and eventually everything freezes. If I start playing around with the program...same thing.

There is nothing in the crash report directory for me to send. Program loads and at some point shortly after just hangs. Currently it is unusable. Most times I have to use task manager to close the program or it won't close. I am using the latest Windows 10

I don't use publisher much and tonight I noticed a lot of content hadn't downloaded. Items would download, others would freeze. Even when one downloadedfully it would start all over again after the program froze. I tried using Publisher tonight and it keeps crashing even when I don't open the My Account window. Is this known? See graphic below for system info

richinri, in what program do you make a tileable image in 3 clicks?
PaintShop Pro. You load an image, select "make tileable" as a menu choice and it is done...perfectly.

Wow. I am brand new to Affinity Photo having used Xara and PaintShop Pro forever. I appreciate your work but wonder if AF Photo will have an easier way to make a tileable image. I am used to making tileables in 3 clicks and it is something I use fairly regularly.

Books Come With Erratum?
in Customer Service, Accounts and Purchasing

I am contemplating getting all 3 books. In the past I have bought books for other software where the books are outdated and no erratum is given to keep up with the updates in software. Do you include or, in other ways, make erratum available for these books? I like to remain sane while learning. lol
