  1. That’s great liz k! Thank you for the update. I’m off to get my driver to give it a try.
  2. Ah, I didn’t think of that liz k 🤔 If it works you might help a good number of folk.
  3. Hi liz k No sadly not.... Affinity didn’t get involved anymore than you can see in this thread. I had no problems with the XP Pen Star 03 and my MacBook using Photoshop.
  4. @Dan C Ah, that's great thanks. At least we're able to see the default settings in a new document. Thank you.
  5. Hi Is it possible to reset the context menu settings to default? For example, I use the patch tool, and change the angle and percentage. I can't see a quick way to return the settings back to default like you can in PS.
  6. Got it! Thanks to the screenshot from @kaffeeundsalz I could see that my grey pixel layer was not indented half way between the main pixel layer, and the mask layer. By dragging the grey layer I either got a mask on top of the layer mask, or the grey layer below the main pixel layer in line with the main pixel layer. In order to get the grey layer indented correctly, and therefore acting as a clipping layer, I needed to put it above the main pixel layer, then with it selected go to Arrange - Move inside, and voila. It now works as I wanted. Thank you!!
  7. Thank you @kaffeeundsalz I thought it should work. I have done exactly as you have kindly provided a screenshot of, but when I paint on the grey layer, with 100% just to check, nothing happens. If I move the grey layer back above the main pixel layer you can see my paint. Must be something buggy happening if you've used this method as we're describing.
  8. Maybe I'm not understanding your method. Why would I need to mask the group?
  9. Hi @Ray S. Thanks for your suggestion. I can't see how that would help me. My goal is to dodge and burn a masked object composited into a background scene. So say I masked a rock from one scene, and put that into a landscape scene, then I want to doge and burn the rock to match the lighting in the landscape scene. In PS I would just clip the 50% grey layer to the rock layer, so when I paint on the grey layer it stays within the rock edges. If I rasterise the rock and its mask, I can then achieve this, but I then lose the ability to edit the mask as a later date if required (ie maintaining non destructive). Seems it's the mask being there that is stopping this method from working.
  10. Hi @NotMyFault Thanks for your reply. I've used the method you outline a lot in the past. I do however find the 50% grey layer to be my preferred method for various reasons. Are we saying that clipping a 50% grey layer method won't work in Affinity Photo? All the best Olly
  11. Hi @stokerg It does get worse the larger the brush tip and the more complex the brush, however seems to exist at all level of tip and brush.
  12. Hi I'm struggling to clip a 50% grey layer to a pixel layer, so I can dodge and burn the pixel layer without affecting other layers. The pixel layer has a mask, and I've tried clipping the grey layer above and below the mask in the layers panel, but I can't see anything when I paint on the grey layer. Any help appreciated.
  13. Hi I've just purchased Affinity Photo, and I'm noticing horrible brush lag, with several strokes being added after finishing painting. I use a Macbook, and an XP-Pen Star-03. The problem exists with the trackpad as well as the tablet. I have used Photoshop for years on the same hardware with no problems. I notice there are multiple posts about this problem, so I wonder if there is a fix available?
