  1. We get the same issue all the time working in a production environment with multiple staff trying to save to a network location. Access to the file is lost, then get a message saying the program needs to close. If access to the file is lost can you not give the option to save to a different file name rather than the program just closing down? Often the recovery version does not recover the latest version and we have lost many hours of work due to this bug. We use the workaround of saving to a local drive now but it's a lot of hassle as multiple users can be working on the same document at different stages of it's life cycle.
  2. Thanks, much appreciated, I'll give a go, could save us hours of work over a month not having to add all the links manually.
  3. Hi, I would also like to request this feature is built into a future release of Publisher so we can add a hyperlink to an image (or text) that's been imported into a document in a data merge. We are using data merge to create a weekly calendar of 40-60 events and it's really very frustrating having to do it manually every time!
  4. Thanks Walt, it's not ideal as we can have several people needing to edit the same document at different stages of its life cycle but we'll try and work round it and hopefully Serif will address this issue in the next update.
  5. Thanks Mike, unfortunately I often ending losing my edits and having to redo them as there's no option to "save as" once I get the message. The document closes and it's pot luck whether we can load the recovery version.
  6. Since changing to Publisher V2, when saving a document over our network we are constantly getting an issue where the file cannot be saved and a message "Access to the document file was lost". When we go to open the file again, we can sometimes open the recovery version which is fine, but more often than not the changes since the last save have been lost. We didn't get this with V1. Is anyone else getting this issue since upgrading to V2 and does anyone know of a fix ? Saving to the local hard drive works fine.
  7. JuBe - are you experiencing the same issue as me where Publisher is creating a new page for each record in the data? If so there's there is hope as I did get the data import working correctly in the end but it's that long ago now I can't remember what was causing the problem! sorry not much help I know.
  8. OK will do, do you know when the next update is due to go live?
  9. Hi Gabe - Thanks, I just uploaded the package via the link you sent me.
  10. By the way I'm not printing the document, I'm using it to create a calendar type listing page in our digital magazine.
  11. Hi and thanks, Yes I agree there doesn't seem to be anywhere in Publisher where you implicitly state that you require multiple records per page. Publisher implies it knows that as when I click "Show Record Order" it shows the direction of data flow with the blue arrows from one cell to the next. All the fields I'm importing the data into are in the first cell and are within the Data Merge Layout and showing as children of that layer in the layers panel. I can step through the records by ticking "Preview with record" so maybe it's a bug that needs fixing?
  12. Hi, thanks for coming back to me. As far as I can see that's exactly what I've got, but when I click "generate" it's still repeating the same record in each cell on the page, then creating a new page for the next record.
  13. I'm trying to import records from an xlxs file showing multiple records on one page. I've drawn a grid layout using the Data Merge Layout Tool and set the data flow expecting to see different data in each cell on the page. However, when I import the data it's showing the same data in each cell, and creating a new page for each record in the datasheet. It's as though the program thinks I created a single design on one spread with placed fields. How can I force the data to import correctly, i.e. multiple records to one page, not one record repeated on each page? Any help appreciated.
  14. Hi - I'm trying to export a single page publisher document to PDF. The document has a number of placed PDF documents on the page. If I export using PDF/X1a:2003 it works OK but if I choose PDF (For print), PDF (Press Ready), PDF (digital small size), PDF (Digital High Quality) the placed PDFs don't appear on the exported PDF, there's just a blank space where the placed PDF should be. I really want to create a small size PDF for publishing to our website. Can anyone in Support help with this?
