  1. All, apologies I missed the original reply to my question. Exactly as the screenshot above which summarises output recipes perfectly. I did spend some time over the weekend playing about in the export persona and it is possible to a degree but it's awkward to do. Granted for what I do sometimes the slice is needed, I use Affinity to place a border around my images which for submissions to Alamy etc is not required. So whatever is done needs to be layer aware. Generally if I am doing general output I use file > export, and then have to choose a size etc everytime, gets tedious over a few exports and no tokens or variables are avaialble for use in constructing filenames. The screen snip below is from Capture One that I use, you create as many recipes as you want - filetype, dimensions, quality, size, where, filename, watermark etc etc.
  2. I would still find it useful to be able to save preset output receipes. Keep having to type in size setting etc gets pretty tedious. Something I have asked for in the past and had hoped it would have made it in by now.
  3. I have not worked with DNG files before, but have been playing about with DxO pure raw, when I open the DNG created by pure raw in Affinity photo the image is noticably more exposed/brighter that what has been created by DxO and also has a noticeable colour shift. I would expect affinity to open the file as is to allow me to then make decisions about what if anything needs altering at this stage. Am I missing something ?.
  4. So the paging file was set to system managed size. Disabled it, deleted the pagefile.sys and re-enabled it to system managed and at least the HDR Tone mapping works now and thats with the acceleration enabled. Very odd, I will try some other tasks in Affinity and see what happens.
  5. Thaks for the feedback - interesting, I have 16gb RAM and try to keep whats running at a minimum. I did see the memory usage going right up when Affinity was running. I have 2tb primary HDD drive with plenty of space. Let me check into the paging file settings and see whats happening.
  6. The new version is shockingly bad, it just isn't right with unpredicatble crashing and freezing. I've just had to rip it off and go back to 1.8.5. Spending too much time coaxing it along rather than doing what I need to.
  7. here are some crash reports 5a2a1ac9-e42c-4f20-8805-283fa829f8a6.dmp f610aab2-b768-4f53-a201-11ee7d801a2b.dmp b5dd41a8-6afc-47c4-953f-3f7b64398094.dmp ca23d839-f6c4-47ee-8455-ca1a680e9fa1.dmp
  8. Yes, with the acceleration off when I go into the Tone Mapping Persona, when the image is being analysed it will crash at what seems to be around the 30% mark. I can generate some crashes and see if there is any data where you mention.
  9. Indeed, the new version seems to have the stabilty of a house of cards, one click too far and the whole lot crashes down.
  10. I have tried enabled and disabled, disabling improves matters, but if I want to play with HDR tone mapping it will then crash when this is disabled. Really not a good build, seems very buggy. Almost as if its still a Beta version.
  11. Is it me or is the new version quite unstable?, 1.8 was pretty solid but 1.9 is very very prone to crashing. So much so that I'm about to go back to 1.8. I can't say it's one particular thing that causes the crash, anywhere in the program and it will lock up and crash out with no warning which is very annoying.
  12. Further to my post above I switched back to using the onboard graphics on the motherboard, Intel UHD630. The problem has now gone away and the Merge works fully in both versions. Seems Affinity does not get on well with the GeForce 710 which is a shame as its not a bad compact card for the price point. Looks like I'm sticking with the on board for the time being.
  13. I am also having the same issue, in both the current stable release and the latest beta build. I can't enable acceleration as my video card does not support it - Geforce 710. I have tried with Tone map checked and unchecked, that makes no difference for me. If I load three images as a merge the progress bar gets to around 60% and Affinity just crashes out and is gone.
