  1. Please don't try to annoy me into upgrading to V2 by making me close the New Version Available notice whenever I open V1 - give me a 'don't show again' option. Capture One try this trick and I that's why I have never upgraded - you are more likely to lose a customer than gain a sale and it reflects badly on you and your ethos. Every time I see it I think 'oh no, not you as well'. Retaining customers by irritating them is an odd strategy, however common it is.
  2. Crashes seemed to have increased in frequency in V1 since I installed the demo version of V2. If I try to place images in either, both crash (for example)
  3. It would be great if: -the area (and ruler) tool could be visible when re-sizing a shape/line; this would allow exact resizing (especially for area and easier to use than the transform panel) -the ruler tool allowed the option of the dimensions you have just measured (the double-headed arrow and length) to 'stick' as an object - it would be a much quicker and easier way to add dimensions to the image (versus drawing arrows, text box etc.) Thanks, Phil
  4. Ah, I see. I have not backed-up this folder up specifically, but I will see if I was included a more general back-up. Either way, I will know for next time and I am grateful for your help. Phil
  5. Thanks for a quick response NathanC. I found it via Run, as you suggested. The Settings folder is still there. The files within it are all .xml files. If, for example, I try to open 'UserInterfacePreferences.xml' using Open with>Designer, Designer opens and says that .xml files are not supported. It appears that the folder and files are there, they are just not being read. Any ideas of what I might try? Thanks again, Phil
  6. I have Designer on Windows bought directly from Serif. When I open it, it has reverted to the factory settings. My preferences etc. have been tweaked over years and I don't have a record of them. Is there a way to back-up my settings in case this happens again? Is there any chance of recovery? I have searched the forum but I cannot fond the file location suggested in discussions from a few years ago. Thanks Phil
  7. Thanks. I realise this is how to do it at present, but a one-click reset button has advantages over this and is something people migrating from other platforms might miss. Thanks Phil
  8. Please consider adding a 're-set' all adjustments to clear the history entirely. This is useful for photo editing when you want to start again from the beginning. Thank You
  9. Me too. A button to re-set all the adjustments (clear history) and preview before/after edit is fairly standard on most photo editing platforms
  10. Nobody has explained why there isn't a 're-set' button that removes your history altogether. Surely, it's possible to add a button. Is there a way to send feature requests to the developers? This would seem like an oversight that will frustrate a lot of new users who are editing photos in Affinity 'Photo'.
