An easy way would be to create each swoosh with two ellipses of different sizes and positions + subtract the smaller from the larger. If Geometry > Subtract gets applied with the option key pressed you get a Compound Group with both ellipses editable as child layers.

My very first project with Affinity Designer is an abstract picture. I learned a lot. I only missed the fill layer. What is the equivalent in Designer? In my project I have used a simple rectangle shape.

Are there any plans of adding a two-dimensional alignment option? Akin to the "Tidy Up" option present in Figma.
I understand the objectives of those programs are a bit outside of the central scope of Affinity, but additions like that seem like the next logical step. Thank you!

I thought I'd take Affinity Designer's amazing new spiral tool for a spin in a recent Spoonflower competition. Serif has done nothing yet to either fix or exacerbate the problem, from what I've experienced personally and read here. It seems to be down to what macOS is doing with its application scanning.

And yet it’s only the Affinity apps that are affected in this way, as lots of other large universal apps reliably start up in seconds.

Well even after stripping out/thinning (lipo'ing) one architecture (in this case I removed the Arm64 architecture from ADe v1 binaries & libs), certain libraries like liblibpersona.dylib do still have their size ...

Add to that then some fonts scan (if initially uncached) and probably calling home (for license and possible update checks etc.) during app loading startup times.

This is a disappointing short list Patrick. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting a big patch, but I wonder how you decide which bug takes priority.
As an example:
What about the image scaling issue in APub (AF-388), wouldn't it qualify for this list?
There have been quite a few posts on about that issue.
I would also find other, more important bugs than those on list.
 
PS: Nevermind. Could I have a request for you? Please ensure that internal testing of version 2.4.0 is thoroughly performed as the number of bugs and regressions in subsequent updates is alarming.

The only speed increase I can think of would be to double-click on the origin of each layer to reset it and then double-click on the rotation handle of each object to reset the rotation.
That would let you reset the rotations without accidentally nudging the layer positions but it’s not much better or quicker.
Unfortunately using “Transform Objects Separately” (Context Toolbar option of the Move Tool) doesn’t give any advantage when trying to do what you want:
the origins can’t be reset en masse; all of the layers are rotated by the same amount as the newly-given rotation of the ‘transform layer’ (at least I think that’s what’s happening, I didn’t get my calculator out to check); the rotation rotates all of the layers about the origin of the ‘transform layer’. See attached video.
I can't think of a better way to do what you want but someone else might be able to.

Yeah it seems works with this way! I guess it is a bug and hopefully in the later version it can be fixed! I really appreciate it! 

On my MAC, I was having the same issue with Photo V2. The bracket shortcuts are present and identical in V2 to those in Photo V1. I have discovered that if you will go up to the Context Toolbar and uncheck Snap to Edges the "[" and "]" bracket shortcuts seem to work perfectly. Interestingly, if I then recheck Snap to Edges and try to resize the selection brush tool using the bracket keys, the shortcuts work!
Not sure about this, but it could be a bug.

I don't recall stating that. In truth, I prefer that Affinity not divert their development efforts towards ensuring compatibility with Adobe's standards. My inquiry was simply whether Affinity, given the updates Pixelmator has rolled out, intends to introduce the ability to open and export editable PSD and AI files, similar to what Pixelmator achieves. That was the extent of my question.
