Spanning multi page tables should be already on their to-do-list. For 1.9.x new features were promised ... hopefully this feature is among them.

Thanks for the reply. I guess we have yet another feature request to add to the pile for the development team. They must be buried by their to-do list. The pace of improvements seems to have slowed.
