Hiya, I'm an Affinity newbie with more than 25 years experience, in that I used to lay out magazines and newspapers on Xpress, then later InDesign. Now I'm retired, they seem very expensive options, and I'm impressed by how well Publisher matches the features of 'the big two'. So I'm guessing...
...It's possible to set up pages that not only have outside margins, but are also sub-divided into columns. I'm talking about the classic static grids that most newspaper pages are built on. So far, I've been working round the issue by dividing text boxes and/or adding rules, but the Production Editor in me wants master pages with the basics locked in place!
Apologies if this has been covered before. I searched, but did not find what I was looking for.
I also bought into Affinity Photo, and I've been getting great results. 👍👍👍

Thank you so much, Walt. That does everything I need right now, and potentially a bit more, by the looks of it.
The more I delve into it, the more I'm convinced that Publisher and Photo do everything I could possibly want. It's just a matter of getting to grips with a slightly different way of working and a different feature set. There was a time when I put together literally thousands of newspaper pages a year in Xpress, but for more design-orientated work, Publisher and Photo seems to be a very powerful combination.
