  1. sorry elkemie there is no other way, my recommendation is that you contact apple support there is not much the affinity team can do.
  2. I think the only point where this is an issue is when a paid upgrade comes out, at which point some people will be stubborn but given your high level of support and as of this time, more than 1 year in between upgrades, I don't think you should have to worry about having to support older versions, if affinity moves to yearly paid upgrades then I would recommend support in the most recent 2 versions. jmo ;)
  3. just to clarify, the web version will be exclusively for viewing/playing around with we wont be able to edit it on the web ie turn affinity into web apps? also will this cost extra to have our projects hosted?
  4. Yea i guess i assumed you would know the algorithm used to make it bw which is not necessarily true
  5. I disagree slightly, would this be able to perfectly replicate the color original? of course not, but I think it could get the colors pretty close ie a maroon car might come out red but its right color just a different variation
  6. Yes but supporting workflows such as these is important and its ok to admit that PS can do something better than AP, if AP was a perfect replication of 20+ years of development in 3-4 that would be unbelievable bc its impossible. AP has room to grow, it is however an AMAZING piece of software and has an awesome dev team behind it. It will get there as long as people continue to give that great dev team good feedback
  7. They do seem to like a challenge :D I bet you could do it with a neural network trained to work in reverse of the color -> b&w algorithm as for whether that is feasible on a laptop...
  8. I assumed that he knew he could color it manually with layers :P also I wouldnt be so sure about that, someday it probably will happen
  9. I agree that the full windows version should work on an x86 surface, I also think that when the iOS version gets released there may or may not be a tablet version released for windows that includes better touchscreen support/UI and allows stylus input. Additionally this may or may not be a separate version of the windows apps.
  10. So quick question, will the 360 picture feature allow us to straighten out iphone panoramas? you see a lot of the same bending in the photo when you use the stock iphone pano mode so it would be really cool to be able to view and edit it like the 360 photo. Thanks!
  11. I see your reasoning. But I would still strongly advocate changing it. I think everyone will agree that it makes more sense that way. I understand that it might be frustrating to people who frequently go between these apps but I still think its the right call. If it doesn't change at least I can take solace in the fact that there is a reason. Thanks, William
  12. Hello all, So I was doing some reading earlier and came across this: http://www.macworld.com/article/3090126/photography/external-editors-for-photos-review-every-image-editor-is-now-an-extension.html My feature request is to build in the ability to round trip edit apple photos. This is the biggest annoyance I have with Affinity Photo and having this feature would be a great help as I await the affinity DAM. Additionally I would want this editing to be in a lossless format by default as can be accomplished with the above app. Thanks! -W
  13. Hey @MattP, I know you're busy but has any more thought about the UI for constraints happened? particularly the issue I pointed out here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/21169-affinity-designer-customer-beta-15-beta-1/?p=99058 Thanks, William
  14. Coming this fall in iOS 10 iOS devices will be capable of shooting in raws which will be output to dng in apple photos. Therefore I am expecting raw support to dramatically increase in iOS 10 and macOS sierra. Additionally Affinity has announced in these forums their intention to build a DAM however they will not start it until after publisher is released.
  15. This explanation makes sense however it is the inverse of what I would expect and I think UI should be changed. When placing constraints outside the box the object is constrained positionally when the lines are selected/on/solid but inside the box the object is constrained to its current size when the lines are deselected/off/dashed. I think this is confusing to the user and that constrained should always be when the line is selected/on/solid. Thanks, William
  16. Question: so in constraints for my object I have the two middle lines (inside the box) selected along with the top and right sides. The way I interpret the lines inside the box is that with those selected the object will maintain its size at all times. However when I adjust the item it is constrained to, the size of my constrained object still changes. Is this a bug or how is this supposed to work?
  17. I totally missed that in the video. yea thats nice. and now I see what you are saying although to be honest what I would really like is the option to put both columns on the right side. that way I have tools on the left with easy access to the canvas and then all the other stuff on the right
  18. Forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by left and right column of panels?
  19. The 80D is available as part of RAW compatibility update 6.20 which is available right now for OS X El Capitan
  20. Bug: I have changed the background grey level for artboards. when I create a new document from file -> new with the default devices iPad air artboard the setting is not respected. I verified that the setting is still where I set it.
  21. I am seeing significant screen flashing when I try to create a second artboard with my selection snapped to the edge of the previous artboard. i.e. I am creating a second artboard and see the red line showing that it is on the same horizontal line as the edge of the other artboard.
  22. there are some sample files that can be downloaded from the opening dialog. However, as far as I know, the videos from the tutorials have not been made available. My recommendation would be to use your own photos and just recreate the effects from the videos. I know that its a little harder but it will probably help you more. Finally this site: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/photo-editing-tutorials.htmis a great reference. It is not specific to AP but will teach you what you need to do to create great photos
  23. Well I was dying for the AD update and couldn't wait for the beta. Thankfully I was gratified today. But now, now Im going through the same thing with AP except I have no idea whats coming! Now I am going to have to wonder all weekend whats in there!! :P
