  1. In this beginner tutorial I'll show you how to draw a parking disk with various tools and techniques in Affinity Designer 1.6.0. Although this tutorial is only available in German, you can hopefully follow the course of the video. The detailed table of contents in English inside the video description is hopefully a good guide for the single steps. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  2. In this short tutorial I demonstrate the Geometry operations (add, subtract, intersect, divide, combine) in Affinity Designer 1.6.0 (destructively and non-destructively) with some samples. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  3. With this free template you can use the cool symbols function from Affinity Designer in Affinity Photo on you desktop and on your iPad. Download This tutorial demonstrates the use of the template Have fun to draw your own seamless repeating patterns. Norbert
  4. In this tutorial I will demonstrate the option Copy items as SVG in Affinity Designer 1.6.0. I use this function often to animate SVG with CSS keyframe animations and some JS in HTML. Just like this example which is a GIF (SVG is not allowed because of it's security issue). You can watch the original SVG file here. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  5. Thank you for your supplement to this tutorial. I know the Polygon Tool It's just a demonstration how you can draw the triangle with a different technique. I've used the Polygon Tool in other tutorials like this to draw this kind of a triangle.
  6. Really beautiful brushset! Thank you very much @Stuart_R!
  7. In this short tutorial I'll show you how to draw simple polygon spirals in Affinity Designer 1.6.0. We will use the rotation origin, transformation panel and the duplicate function. Link to the video on YouTube Enjoy the video and have fun to draw your own polygon spirals. It's simple but interesting! Norbert
  8. In this user request I will demonstrate how to work with cut lines and the overprint function of Affinity Designer 1.6.0. You need this functions for printing and cutting stickers with custom shapes. You can download the Affinity Designer project file of the tutorial here: https://goo.gl/JT7yQh Keep on drawin' Norbert
  9. It would be nice if you offer custom shortcuts for all operations that Affinity Designer offers through the different bars like the symbol bar at the top or the context bar. I miss especially the options to switch between node types and all actions, not only open and join curve. That would make my workflow a lot faster.
  10. Thank you for you reply @Gnobelix! If you've learned something new, then creating the tutorial has been well worth it. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  11. Hey @Kiarian, thanks for you comment. Symbols are really very useful and offers a lot of possibilities in your drawings and design. I've created some other tutorials where I demonstrate the use of symbols. You'll find them on my YT channel. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  12. In this short tutorial I'll will show you how to create an Affinity Designer template with nested symbols to draw snowflakes, ice crystals and other interesting things in all Affinity products. The content of this tutorial isn't new but I think at this time of year a nice idea to draw some nice snowflakes, ice crystals, stars... Have fun to draw your own... and keep on drawin' Norbert
  13. If've created some calendar templates, assets (DE, EN, ES, FR) and a document color palette to create calendars for 2018. Please contact your printing house before ordering and check the bleeds and color profile. You will find an instruction (GERMAN) on my YouTube channel: Hopefully these freebies are useful for you. Feel free to like and share... Keep on drawin' Norbert
  14. Thanks for your reply @gkulka! Can you use these values/equations in macros?
  15. Nice tutorial @WaveF! I am just working on a German tutorial with similar content. Thanks for sharing! Norbert
  16. Hi @gkulka, AFAIK Affinity Photo can't read and operate with any values like width or height yet.
  17. Hi @gkulka! May be this tutorial in German will help you Makro aufzeichnen a bit. Norbert
  18. Thanks for your replies @carl123 and @dutchshader! I've just tested the Perspective Filter. Thanks for the hint to Live Filter Layer @carl123! Works fine if you work in Affinity Photo like in the gif of @WaveF - thank you @dutchshader. If I switch back to Affinity Designer and open the original AD file the program says: Can't wait to see a real perspective tool in AD.
  19. Hi community, I'm working on a new tutorial and would like to know if it's possible to use the perspective tool of Affinity Photo non-destructively. Background of my question I use Affinity Designer symbols to project an image from a flat view (for printing purposes) to a perspective view in a mockup. In my last tutorial I use a parallel projection with the shear and rotate tool in the transformation panel. Now I would like to use the Perspective Tool of Affinity Photo. Wish Affinity Designer had a perspective tool. I just want to change the image in the flat view without touching the perspective view again. Any suggestions/ ideas? Norbert
  20. I got it! Thx again work your approximate. In my next tutorial I will use/show this method.
  21. Thank you very much @owenr! Works fine for the front panel. For the spine I've additionally to reduce the height but thats okay for me. Using the transform panel is a lot easier than doing it with the mouse.
