  1. If variable fonts are definitely not supported in v2, perhaps the actual bug to report here is a UI issue. In other words, there are 15 duplicates of "Regular" for variable fonts, when there should only be one "regular". (I'd prefer variable font support of course, but at least fixing these duplicate "Regular"s will improve the UI.
  2. Thank you for confirming. I knew v1 didn't support them, but I'm surprised that v2 doesn't given the ready availability of variable fonts these days. Variable fonts have apparently been about since 2016 (Bahnschritt was released in 2017), so they're not that new of a thing to support. I'll keep my fingers crossed for v3.
  3. Using Designer v2.0.0 on Windows, font selection doesn't work correctly. See screenshots attached on the menu drop down and character pane. Instead of giving the various options, it just gives the Regular variant repeatedly. Here's the main menu font dropdown: And here's the Character pane:
  4. Lack of variable font support is the main reason I give when my Adobe-using colleagues ask if there are any problems migrating over. If there were some "a bunch of people chip in £50 to Affinity to get this fixed", I'd be there with my card details. It's a real blocker to migration.
  5. Hi, I would like to use Affinity Designer to create block diagrams of systems (similar to Visio/diagrams.net, but with the power of Affinity Designer behind it). At the moment, to do this, I need to manage both the text frame and a duplicate shape behind it, as text frames can't have their fill or stroke set. It would be great to be able to treat it as one object (similar to Visio/diagrams.net) rather than wrangle two objects per conceptual box.
