RichardMH reacted to Afinniti-web in Tablet Wacom freezes and falls
Moc děkuji, Ctrl při spuštění a vymazat výchozí nastavení uživatele pomohlo a ještě jsem vypnul HW akceleraci. Dík!

RichardMH reacted to Jaffa in Unable to add Topaz Denoise AI as an add on to Affinity Photo V2
Many thanks, Richard, that's exactly what I had done this time! A bit perplexed as to how it kept happening a few months back, when I tried with a number of images, when I certainly applied properly. Never mind it works now and that's great!

Are you applying DeNoise to a pixel layer? Try Merge Visible then applying DeNoise to that.

RichardMH reacted to Ron P. in Hi, my affinity wont start, even after reinstallation
Hi @Kimo,
You don't say which OS or App your using? Also need to know what version of each.
For Windows:
Press and hold down the Control key, then launch the Affinity App. You should see the Clear User Data dialog. There's 2 sections, just pay attention to the top one. The top 3 options are checked by default. The Fourth is the Disable Hardware Acceleration. Check the box to it's left. Press the Clear button in the bottom right. The Affinity App should continue to start.

RichardMH got a reaction from Alfred in Versioning
Wondering if "Save with Versioning" is an option. I see this as "Save As" with the saved file name being automatically generated. E.g. The original with an updated version number. If it was really clever it would allow a specified maximum number of versions. Would save buying software to do this and would solve a lot of the problems with corrupt files.

XnView is a popular viewer and sees .afphoto files.

8gb of RAM isn't a lot. Maybe adjust the RAM usage limit in settings.

Yep, dropped by to see if someone else had already mentioned this^
would love to see the Affinity suite (or at least Photo) equipped with Content Credentials signing.

RichardMH got a reaction from henryanthony in Older person moving to Affinity Suite?
I have a pair of glasses I only use for the computer. Readers with a fairly high magnification, suggested by my optometrist. And I have a biggish screen, 24". I'm 69.

RichardMH reacted to KarinC in Older person moving to Affinity Suite?
I started using Affinity at the age of 71 (but I've used countless other graphic software since they first came out). I found that using a large monitor helps - a lot.

Yes. Free until end of the month AI masking and a lot more. Does a good job in masking and all masks can be refined.

RichardMH got a reaction from CCS in Affinity = PS, but how to replace LR?
DxO Photolab is worth a look. I got a free copy of Photolab 5 Essential when I bought the Nik Collection and for many images its fine as a RAW convertor and has the usual adjustments and some masking capability. Has a basic DAM. Later versions have better features. Other option is the free Capture One Express if its available for your camera. Very good RAW convertor, basic adjustments but no masks and also has a basic DAM. Excellent highlight recovery. I'm fussy about RAW conversions and use Iridient. I also use FastRawViewer for simple management and culling.

Might help to post the image or something similar. With tricky masks some of us just do stuff until it looks right. (And live in hope that Photo will get AI masks)

RichardMH reacted to Ash in 2.3.0 to be released this morning!
Hi All,
I’m pleased to say that we will be pushing 2.3 live to retail this morning. The beta versions were updated yesterday to the same build (2.3.0.2165) as detailed in Patrick’s post here. This means the beta versions are in effect exactly the same as the retail versions we will push so you can keep them installed if you wish.
As always it’s been a pleasure working with you all on this release and cannot thank you enough for all the bug reports and other feedback you have given. I mentioned at the start of this beta we are working towards a shorter cadence between updates to help us release improvements and bug fixes sooner - and I hope you agree this has worked very well.
With that in mind we will be starting 2.4 beta very shortly (hopefully in just a couple of weeks). Looking forward to seeing you all on here for that!
Thanks again,
Ash

RichardMH reacted to Dan C in noob baffled by grid
I'm happy to confirm that the latest beta version, Affinity Photo 2.3.0.2114 has made the following improvements:
The default behaviour of View > Show Grid has been returned to match Affinity Photo V1's behaviour - meaning the 'Automatic' Grid will be applied, which changes the frequency of grid subdivisions as you zoom in/zoom out.
A new separate Pixel Grid option is available in all Affinity apps, under View > Show Pixel Grid. You can find out more about this feature here . If you wish to test these changes, you can sign up for our beta program using the information below:
Many thanks for your feedback here, as it helps us to continue to improve the Affinity Suite

RichardMH got a reaction from Russell Carthew in Help with Basics
Probably not the easiest thing to start with and there's no unique best way. Depends on the condition of the image. Suggest you post a sample image. Topaz Photo AI might also be worth a look. There's a free trial. Also been a few threads on this n the past, so do a search.

RichardMH reacted to Dan C in Gradient Map and masks
Hi @RichardMH,
Thanks for your report!
I can confirm I've replicated this issue here, it appears to occur with the following 4 blend modes, when using the Gradient Map Adjustment -
Vivid Light
Colour Burn
Hard Mix
Reflect
Therefore I have logged this with our development team now. Interestingly it does not seem to occur if the Mask layer is not nested within the Adjustment layer, or if you use the Mask built into the Adjustment layer itself.
I hope this helps

RichardMH got a reaction from Ruslan TV in Support for Alpaca plugin
Alpaca is an AI generation plugin for Photoshop that looks interesting but won't run as a Photo plugin. Would be very useful if it were supported. (Their support say Affinity haven't replied to them!)
