  1. Hi guys. Is there any way to import multiple numbers from an excel sheet into Publisher? I am making some flyers, and they have random numbers on them (if they were in order, I would set with page number, done that before) that are in a separate excel sheet. I need to make 500 pages and add codes to each page.. Is there any fast way to insert them, or do I have to manually copy paste each one of them? Thank you.
  2. OK, there were quite some files in the autosave, and 1 in recovery. Deleted them all, will report if it happens again. Thank you so far.
  3. Yeah but I don't know how :)) as it happens randomly. And when I open a random file, SOMETIMES the app starts with a recovery notification.. Often not even related to the file I open.. For ex today I had the 2000x68 file open ,yet I only opened the app to work from scratch.
  4. Nope. I was working on a random 2000x68 pixel banner, 2 layers, saved, delivered. Closed the app, no crashing (at least no crash report message). Then today when I open up the app, recovery.. so I pressed ok to see what's it all about, and it opened that 2000x68 pixel file. But it happens randomly. Yes I don't save these files, I work on them, save a copy, mail them, then delete. But I do this quite often. Other times files I have saved open when pressing recovery.. Most of the time I just hit Don't open and work from scratch. But it's annoying.
  5. I have crashes on my intel MBP 16.. Crash reports do nothing, I've posted them in another thread. Also now the app doesn't crash on itself, but when I close it, it closes, and when I open a random file, it says it has a recovery file... This happens a LOT of times.
  6. And again.. for simply closing the app. New record Affinity Designer [72360].pdf
  7. Affinity Designer [72241].pdf The daily crash.. This time I opened a file
  8. 1.9.2. and crashes every day!!! Random times, random files. I just had a crash now for no other reason than aligning some elements.. It's REALLY unreliable now. Last year the app was solid AF, and now I have to save after every modification Running latest macOS. If you want me to copy paste every report here, I will.
  9. Same here, latest Mac OS.. Fails the same since yesterday.. Publisher updated fine.
  10. Yes, that method is working. I just have to set my muscle memory to copy paste instead of cmd+j. Thank you. But pity I can't set it to do that by default.
  11. Because sometimes I have some groups already, and want to duplicate them but on top, so I can move them around, but on top of the bottom ones.. layering effect. They are already grouped so I group them again to ungroup them after.. 112233 is not the same as 123 123 what are you talking about... you have to move them around in layers panel afterwards. For ex I had some artboards that I wanted to duplicate, to make more artboards... I named them 1,2,3,4 I duplicated them down, to have 8, but they were between the layers, so I had to rename them 1, 5, 2, 6, 3, 7 and so on. instead of just renaming top layers, I had to select in between layers. I needed each artboard w different name That's why it's a workaround.. because other apps duplicate whatever you select ON TOP of what you select. I am used to photoshop and it's doing a great job duplicating and messing up my game here (and corel and so on). But please tell me how is this mix duplicate more useful than the proper way to duplicate, aka on top..
  12. But this is a workaround, not a solution.. Was using this method before.
  13. Hello. Does anyone know how to duplicate layers but the "proper" way? Now if I select 3 layers and duplicate it, it will give me a mess, as every layer is duplicated on top of the other one, mixing the base layers with the new ones instead of duplicating on TOP of the 3 base layers... Is there a setting for this? To be more clear, if i have base 1, base 2, base 3 layers, after duplicate I will get base 1, copy base 1, base 2, copy base 2, instead of the others duplicated on top..
  14. Yeah, while I appreciate the effort of the creator, this isn't good enough. A pattern should be infinite and have no hard edges.. This method (is also the method I use) gives you hard edges and when placing something on it, it will cut off, not continuing correctly to the other square (unless you move half to right edge and other half to left edge and so on..). Just add a plain pattern maker and everybody will be happy. Drooled when I saw how easy and fun is the new Pattern mode in Illustrator.. How easily they moved objects, not having to worry about edges.
  15. I can't believe it's still not in there... I work a lot with patterns and the symbols method is not that fun to use and unreliable... PLEASE add a "pattern" making mode to Designer...
  16. Thank you for the shift solution. Also is there a way to sample a color on the fly when using the brush tool? It's complicated to press "I" then click on sampled color in the color tab, then paint, and do this over and over when you need a quick blend in pixel persona...
  17. We are beyond this, I understand that. But I didn't get why the fractions, who would use them.. I work in mm units and have 10-20 different dimension projects/day. Mostly @300 dpi for print. At least for raster banners I don't have to do the switch-a-roo to see the values.. Be that mm or inch, I doubt I am the only one getting white lines.. And most of you correct the AB after creation, if you have decimal units.. ? I get it that some "formulas" you use give you exact numbers, but other times? It's a little inconvenient...
  18. Because the same happens when I have other elements in the artboard.. But I didn't want to add a raster image (same thing happens) or share a full design.. That rectangle was just an example of how the content doesn't cover the whole AB. At least i understand why the fractions of pixels... Still, could have an option to have full pixel values, at whatever unit used or resolution.
  19. Why should I disable the move by whole pixels? Shouldn't that help to stop the objects moving 0.5 pixels afterwards?
  20. But it's there.. Because others have it too. And again, what's the use of a fraction of a pixel? It's just plain retarded to have 0.6 pixel, so at export to turn white... Sometimes when I exported from export persona to PDF it went away, other times when used save as, it was there.. Same file. The problem is inconsistency and the addition of the useless fraction of a pixel instead of rounding up or down. I work in mm.. so am I doomed forever to switch to pixel units just to check after every new document and artboard? Would be nice to have at least an option to turn on/off the "rounding".
  21. And why isn't this happening in PS? it gives me 591 px document. I understand that 50mm +3mm bleed gives that dimension in pixels, but WTF is the point to give .6 pixels, if it will be white and not the color of the object that fills it (or goes over it, as all my designs go beyond the edge line).. I'm just looking for solutions... Because creating a mm document, then switching to pixel units to check if the app created half a pixel, for absolutely no use, is quite long process.. every time... and how come other apps can round that pixel up or down? I prefer to have it larger by half a pixel than to have a white line on the edge. like I said, half a pixel is useless and turns white at export!
