I had similar problems with the new version until I started to change the settings on the Graphic card. It only seems to work on "Intergrated graphics" this is a setting that I can control on my graphic card through manufacture software. There are other settings perhaps better but it only works with Intergrated graphics. You might look see if Intel driver has similar software. Agree very irritating but I had also problems with Ad*** and their tech. support was totally useless. Again I had to solve by myself. Let me know if I can help further. Best of luck

Ok! I hope that this helps someone. My Notebook (Lenovo W520, I7, 16GB, 1TB SSD... oldie) but works great most of time. Had a similar problem with the software crashing as soon as I uploaded any type file (.CRA, .JPEG..) it would crash or do something similar with LIGHT***. Tried win10 updates, drivers... no success Then: I recalled that somewhere in the computer there was a piece of software to adjust the graphic card(my card is NVIDIA). the software is NVIDIA control panel. Ok! perhaps old problems but I start Affinity Photo all is well as soon as I try to load any type of image it shutdown no message nothing. Help It ran prior to the las set of windows 10 update. I even tried to go back still the problem persist. help. I running win10/I7/16gb/1TB SSD should run great but like I said shutdown thank you
