  1. When I convert my CR2 raw files into .afphoto files I expect to be able to see the thumbnails when I am trying to load the files for editing. Sometimes I can and sometimes I just get the Affinity logo, can you please explain this?
  2. Well, I have to say I was unaware of the acronym! BUT after 40 years in and around the IT industry if one of my developers told me he couldn't write a procedure to delete the file on display, a P45 would be winging its way to him!!
  3. Yes, OK - but that's in Windows, NOT Affinity, I would like to be able to delete an image which I am looking at when stepping through loaded files. Currently my workflow procedure is. View the raw files in MS photos and delete the real "stinkers" Run a batch process on the raw files to convert them to .afphoto (usually applying a macro or two) Load all the .afphoto images into Affinity Photo Step through and edit them - hence it would be great if there was a "delete" option to further refine my selection
  4. This would be great when processing a day's shooting and much more convenient than having to go into a separate program!
  5. Hi, I love Affinity Photo but find it very cumbersome and slow to process a batch of images. Microsoft Photos allows you to "step through" the images in what is effectively a "view mode", you can then delete if required or swich to "edit mode". If we could do this in Affinity it would save loads of time and effort. At present I step through in Microsoft Photos, to cull the ones I don't want then re-open the image in Affinity, it is very time consuming having to re-open each image.
  6. Having loaded a number of raw files for editing I find it quite tiresome when closing them having to say you want to save every file and to specify the folder to save it to. It would be great if there was an option "do this for all files"
  7. This is not what I meant, yes if I set to the camera to single point focussing Affinity will show that single point as you show above, but if I set the camera to group points, it will automatically pick one point in the group to use. Playback (and Canon DPP) then shows that actual point and not the others in the group as does Affinity.
  8. Hi, both the playback on my Canon EOS 7D MkII and also Canon's Digital Photo Professional show the actual single focus point used for the shots. All I can show in Affinity Photo are the focus regions and not the actual point the camera used. Can this feature be incorporated?
  9. Hi, After a shooting session I like to run a batch job, to convert CR2 files to Afphoto files and running a basic macro. I would like to make 2 points 1) The process takes AGES - can it not be speeded up? 2) It would be useful to add the option of loading the files after conversion, enabling an immediate editing session Hope this is helpful Regards Chris
  10. Just discovered a very strange thing! When I do a batch job all my macros are available to apply - yet they don't appear in the macro panel in the studio!!
  11. Hi I have just upgraded to version 1.9 and have 2 problems: Affinity STILL thinks that I am using a Tamron 35-150 lens when I am using an 18-400 All my Macros and libraries have disappeared! Regards Chris
  12. Good morning, Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I am a reasonably good amateur photographer with decent kit (Canon EOS 7D Mk11), but far short of being a professional. However I do a bit of photo journalism for a couple of classic yachting magazines. I have been using Affinity Photo for around a year now and am slowly getting the hang of it! My question is this: What do most of you do with a session's (say a day's) worth of shots, do you go through each one and edit it in Affinity individually (there may be 100), or have you got some sort of "standard" batch process (maybe using a macro) which you use as a "pre-processing" operation; if so can someone suggest a method? Regards Chris
  13. I have experienced this with ,my Tamron 18-400 and reported it to Affinity, they have reproduced the problem and are going to correct it
  14. Hi , Can anyone help me? I have been using Affinity Photo for around 8 months now and beginning to get the hang of it slowly; I approached it they way I approach any new piece of software - on a "need to know basis" i.e. as I need a facility I research it and find out how it works. However the following is confusing me: I use a Canon EOS 7D Mk 11 and shoot in RAW, Canon CR2 format. When I open a RAW file in Affinity it takes me to the Develop Persona Should I perform my editing in Develop Persona or switch to Photo Persona, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each? None of the tutorials seem to address my dilemma!! Chris
