A lot of the features you listed are important, but without RTL I can not join the Affinity community.
so sad

klm.ny got a reaction from keren in Need RTL language
You can't compare the new Affinity apps, to the old Serif Plus programs.
Affinity is very popular in the ME, even before supporting RTL. once RTL is implemented, Affinity will be the standard in graphic design very fast.
Can't wait to see Hebrew Support as part of the Affinity Feature set.

Hi,
That time when I discovered Affinity for the first time, I was shocked, because I didn't think that I will find a software that can defeat Adobe collection, and I still betting on this, of course this will need patience and hard work but I'm very optimistic especially when Affinity came up with the idea of joining the 3 products in one interface, (that was a punch in the face of Adobe😂), so I made a short list of the differences and missing options in Affinity comparing to Adobe (see image attached) , after last update I can say that many sections in the list had closed (including link images, resources manager, package output, select same and select object, text on path, contour tool, any many other enhancements), but I still see that there are many important options need to be taking care of like (trace image tool, shape builder tool, effects like Distort, Blend, Envelop, 3D, Perspective, Grid,..., RTL language support,....), I really wish that until version 2 we will see Affinity monsters that will eat Adobe.

I was about to purchase all three programs after I try them for a while, but I stopped when I realized that I can not write in Arabic. I have postponed the purchase until Arabic is supported.
I hope that happened soon .. because I'm sick of adobe Purchase policies.

Agree. Btw, it's a popular request, and the best suggestion i saw in the forums, was to add an "Animation Persona" in A Designer.
Will be great

I really liked the first splash screen! When I saw the new splash screen a little disappointed. Why the numbers were removed, which version I'm using now I don't understand.
Decided to make my own variation of the splash screen, pictures can be different by itself. :))
P.S. Pictures ( shuttle and plane ) taken from the site Affinity.

klm.ny reacted to amirgelman in What other right-to-left languages are not supported that you want to be fixed?
Hey guys,
I'm co-founder of RTL Fixer which is used to fix right-to-left writing within Affinity Designer, Photo and Publisher and more.
As we now have Arabic, Farsi and Hebrew all working perfectly, along with copy and pasting text, Tashkil and more,
We now want to further develop more features and things that will make our lives easier, especially when working with Affinity's amazing products.
So, what are other languages that are problematic that you wanna see being fixed in the next updates of RTL Fixer?
I heard Chinese can sometimes be written from right to left? Is there any request for such a thing?
If you still don't know what RTL Fixer, check our website:

Thanks in advance!

klm.ny reacted to LondonSquirrel in Fix RTL for Arabic, Persian and Hebrew languages
Are you proposing to tell a few hundred million people to change the way they write? Arabic and derivative alphabets cannot be compared with hieroglyphics. Letters are not pictograms.
For information, the Persian derivative language Tajiki is written in Cyrillic while previously it was written in Perso-Arabic, and then Latin. This change was not particularly welcome at the time.
Meanwhile 'hieroglyphics' are in use today in the form of road signs.

@Tia Lapis
There is almost no other way to take this than wrong. Please step away from this thread. You not wanting or seeing the need for something is not a reason to post in any suggestion thread, and to dismiss someone's choice of language is astounding. Do not reply to me, just step away. Thank you.

It is just a topic we talk about -- you are the one who doesn't accept us talking about it (and i really don't know why)

klm.ny reacted to Sam Neil in [Multi] RTL language text support
@dominik I understand but surely the later they leave it too late and the trio gain more features, wouldn't it make them into so much complex software and retrofitting will only add regression as it does not every time a new beta version comes out.
Support for RTL should have been there from day one.... imho.
Right now I am in the middle of a RTL project and you would not believe the issues I have had to get it working. So many fonts display incorrectly which means I had to abandon them and choose something else. A paragraph is now put together line-by-line as it would still mirror it to LTR if you just paste it and that is still an issue despite me using an app to "encode" the text so it is shown correctly as RTL and not LTR...
I hope they sort this out very soon...

Thanks for this insight. I didn't know this. Too bad for RTL-users. OTOH Serif has been very clear about the fact that the implementation of RTL-support will take a long time.

That DLL file seems to be a standard part of Microsoft's Visual Studio program, and has been for several years, not something specific implemented by Serif.

Guy's realistically when do you think you will have RTL support on APUB? Version 2.0?

No rtl support is a big blockage for my work. I am surprised too from the developers' stance point. Even Inkscape works with rtl text.

Can affinity.serif support RTL as a part of the newer versions (non with a tird-party software)?
-
klm.ny reacted to sam weiss in Suppot Right-To-Left Middle Eastern Writing Languages
If affinity.serif can support RTL languages as a part of the software, not with a third-party software, (like adobe supports RTL languages as a part of their software) like - arabic . aramaic . azeri . dhivehi/maldivian . hebrew kurdish(sorani) persian/farsi . urdu,?
