I'm following this very keenly. I agree with the sentiments that footnotes are an absolutely essential functionality of any competent DTP package that is worthy of such a name. Is there anyone at Serif/Affinity that can provide any 'guidance' on a timeline for this being made available. eg 1 month, 1 year, 5 years?

I have created a Master Page for a photo book. On the Master page I have inserted 6 rectangular empty photo frames and 6 text boxes for the captions for each photo, into the base Layer. the book will use the Master page 5- to 100 times. When i insert this Master page into a document, I cannot change the size and position of each photo box. Only way I have is to click on Layer for the inserted page and > Edit Detached. Is there a way I can put the 6 photo frames and caption boxes on a separate Layer in the Master and leave the properties of each empty photobox unlocked, so when I insert a Master page into the document, the boxes are not locked, but the other properties (eg page number and header etc) in the Base layer remain locked?

Thanks. I have now purchased and upgraded my Publisher, and can confirm no manual Check for Updates function. I have imported a doc from InDesign (converted INDD to IDML), and I note that Publisher will not show any of the footnotes. Is this correct? Thanks

Thanks. I have used InDesign about 2 years ago and it worked well, but was too 'heavy duty' for my ongoing needs. Hence my search for a reasonable alternative, which Publisher seems to be. I am putting a text frame on top of an inserted photo. In InDesign, it was possible to have a radiused corner to the text frame. I cannot locate how to apply a radius to the corner of a text frame, such as you can for a photo frame. Any suggestions as to where I should look? I'm setting up a Master Page to include photos. Many thanks everyone for your kind help. I have changed my Username. The action of pressing Tab button helped. On the 5th press of Tab, the Page Navigation Bar reappeared. I have a free trial version while I assess the package. I note there does not seem to be a place to check for updates. Have I missed something? Thanks again, Warren

I have 'lost' the Page Navigation Bar (bottom left corner) in Publisher. How do I get it back?
