All of us trying to open up the new style guide at the same time when it drops. 🔆

Oh, look. Another time-waster video speculating on what will happen with the Affinity Trinity release on the 9th (2 days away). I should be so fortunate to spend my time watching. No thanks.

I too have had the exact same problem in the past. I have a workaround, but I'll wait until the experts chime in first. They probably have a more viable solution.

Well, if it's no longer a men-u, can we call it a them-u?

Everything else can be expected from Serif next week, but I think the Raspberry is already a little impossible (that will only happen with the first free update).

My idea for Something Big:
Designer:
All vector all the time. Printed pages will be able to have video and/or audio play, plus they will be stretchable in all three dimensions. From postcard size to billboard size just by tugging on the corners of the paper.
Photo:
The artificial intelligence engine will allow us to ask the application to generate a photograph of "my parents when they were in their twenties coming out of a movie theatre that is showing "The Lady Killers" in London in 1955" This will be in colour or Black and White.
Publisher:
We will be able to make a new Publisher file and ask for a second (or third) novel by Alain-Fournier to be written (and translated into any existing or extinct language). Or an annual report could be generated by just saying out loud "Adobe, Annual Report, 2024".
And finally, I can load that Photo document of my parents into any 3D printer and get a life-size statue made. Or I could load the Alain-Fournier novel into it and get a book that is produced using 1920's technology, right down to the ink and the fibres in the paper.
All of this running on a Raspberry Pi.

Twolane got a reaction from iMatt in Affinity V2.0
The main reason I bought the app was to come here and listen - or, I guess, read - all the harping. Personally, since V2 seems to be on it's way, I want to hijack the thread and turn it into the V3 thread. Will V3 be forthcoming? What advancements can we expect, and when will V3 be released? Imminently? Beginning of the year? Right after V2? Concurrently? Why cant company people answer these questions? Every other software companies does. Will V3 run on Linux? Will V3 have everything I want, or will I have t suffer through the demands of what others want for V3? Why is it taking so long?
😇
Edited to add apologies for the grammar and spelling and ptypos, but it was early in my part of the world, I hadn't had my coffee, and furthermore, I just plain don't feel like doing proper edits.

This entire thread and the like will be redundant when V2 lands.

1,000 more tools? Amazing. Just what I'd want in my garage - thousands of unused tools cluttering up the walls and the benches, never able to find the "right" tool, and constantly cursing out a programmer for same. At least if the tools were in my actual garage, I could do a yard sale to get rid of the unused clutter collecting dust.

There sure are a lot of people wanting to see these products dead and buried, aren't there? What's with that? While it may not work for some, it certainly works rather well for the likes of me - and many others.

Twolane got a reaction from Frozen Death Knight in Affinity Future
I'm not nervous about anything. I got my money's worth out of the Affininity Trinity (acquired at 25 bucks per) probably after about a month later. Or maybe three months. Whatev. It took a little longer for Publisher to sink in to my fatigued brain, but even that software is a no-brainer now. I was getting along before I met Affinity, and I'll get along after. What's the big deal? If you don't like a product, or aren't willing to pay up (as with Adobe's subscription model) move along and try to use something else. There is plenty out there.
