  1. I replaced the v2 original propcol file with yours. Now what? I don't see any presets anywhere.
  2. I'm afraid I must take exception to Horn of Africa, since there are two. One can be rounded. I've spent some time getting into various kinds of trouble in the sands of time on the other, but I shan't go into detail about either. 😎
  3. This is what I have trouble with in all of the negative posting going on in a wide variety of threads: the price versus the complaints. I sure don't consider myself a pro by any stretch of the imagination, but... I use Photo for book covers, both e-book and print. I use Publisher to format my print books for upload to Ingram Spark and Amazon POD distributing. Thanks to this software, my POD interiors rival that of the Big 5 publishers. V2 now serves my purposes outlined above. V1 has saved me thousands of dollars in publishing costs. I expect v2 to do the same. I will continue to chug along doing what I do best. Unsolicited advice: Perhaps the complainers should try doing the same, rather than waste time complaining about what isn't there, what should be there, what works, what doesn't work, and on and on. Also, there is v1 to go back to if v2 doesn't make anyone happy. /endofrant Edited to add that I've been using the Affinity Serif products for two years. I bought the threesome on sale for around 25 bucks each, if I remember correctly. Thanks, Serif, and carry on regardless.
  4. Isn't there a 30-day free trial? Best not complain for too long. The price is surely going up on December 15. There'll be plenty of whining then, too, I'm sure. And we can all hear it already.
  5. I can't wait for the thread that complains about missing out on the "non-sale" when the price goes up. Otter be a scream to read the whining and gnashing of teeth.
  6. Well... You do get a piece of charcoal in lieu of, so that's a lifetime warranty if I ever heard of one.
  7. Oh noes! What depravity have I started? 😇 But wait! Will v3 have this, that, or the other thing I need to do my work? If it doesn't have this, that, or the other thing, I'm not buying it. But if I do decide to buy it, I'm def going back to v1. Or I might not. On the other hand... and on and on and on ad infinitum. But despair not, all ye who enter here. I uninstalled v1, v2, and the imaginary v3 that will solve all our problems. I have gone back to quill and ink on parchment. It is much better at this, that, and the other thing. So there's that.
  8. Cool. Thanks for that. Gracias.
  9. Thanks Walt. As always, you are a veritable fountain of information for users like me. I would never have thought of or discovered that on my own.
  10. I use this one https://bookow.com/resources.php#isbn-barcode-generator
  11. It's Designer V2. Import Brushes / Brushes imported successfully / Imported 88 raster brushes into category "Dremphography 2". But wait... I checked Photo V2, and was able to remove a copy of the brushes from all apps, so there's that. I think I fixed my own problem.
  12. No, they don't show up in the Pixel Persona, either. Not a major problem. I just like to try and keep a tidy ship. You see, when I did an import, and they didn't show up the first time, I just couldn't resist and imported them into V2 AD a SECOND time. It told me I was importing a second copy, which also didn't appear in the AD V2 Brushes list. Call me a bear for punishment.
  13. V2 works just fine for what I need it for. I even bought the Win/Mac combo, and I don't have an Apple. Nor will I ever.
  14. I've managed to double up the "install" of two sets of brushes that don't show up in the Designer Brushes menu. I recall there being a V1 method to remove such. Is there a way to do the removal in V2 as well? Where is the Designer/Brushes propcol file located? I can't seem to find it.
  15. Wow. Thanks for this. It works great in Photo V2. I pulled a photo into the Rectangle, above "Your image above me". It resized, and I was good to go. No original image resizing required to get what I wanted. I turned off one pin, resized/recolored the one I kept and moved it to the center, and I was good to go with that, too. I can change the paper or turn the background off and have it transparent. Amazing! Would I have thought of this all on my own? Never evar! So thanks again for posting. It never ceases to amaze me how many tips, tricks, templates, styles, LUTs, and many, many other "helps" I have found on this forum. While I obviously haven't used all of them, they're all stored away for future use should I need them. Often I'll make a text file note with the same file name to make sure I understand what they do.
  16. Hammer? Meet nail. Ho-hum. While many of you were posting in here, and in other threads regarding the hammer/nail controversies, I formatted another ebook for POD printing. The POD book is currently uploaded and is available on Ingram Spark and Amazon. Oh, and I used the apparently unusable Publisher V2, of which I have a shortcut on my Win11 x64 laptop taskbar. I had such a shortcut on my desktop, too, but I deleted it. (But that's another thread, so to speak.) I paid 99 bucks for the "full meal deal", and I don't even own an Apple product, thank goodness for that. (That's another can of worms, thanks to the Apple /// and Lisa debacles, but I digress.) (That's also another thread, but don't take it personally, all you Apple users.) So, ya, I'm a happy user. Now, back to work. 😇 Oopsie, one more thing: I bought direct from the Affinity store, so there's that. * sings * Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go.
  17. 7 bucks a year if you got it on sale. Not a bad ROI as far as I'm concerned. Adobe is an alternative if that was too expensive.
  18. I would like to take this opportunity to happily report that the GMIC plugin v3163 continues to work with V2. On the other hand, my very old free verion of NIK v1.2.11 may have some problems with a couple of the filters. I do have .12 and .15, so I'll try those, too, when I have some time. (If this isn't the right place for this, please move it.) Edited to add that I'm a happy upgrader and user, as per usual. I will try to keep my keyboard/finger problems whilst using the software to a minimum, but I can't promise to deliver on everything.
  19. All of us trying to open up the new style guide at the same time when it drops. 🔆
  20. Oh, look. Another time-waster video speculating on what will happen with the Affinity Trinity release on the 9th (2 days away). I should be so fortunate to spend my time watching. No thanks.
  21. I too have had the exact same problem in the past. I have a workaround, but I'll wait until the experts chime in first. They probably have a more viable solution.
