Before the 1.9 update the pen tool worked differently in Affinity Designer. I was able to create a path and if I wanted to add a node to an already existing path I just held CTRL and clicked on the line I wanted to add the node too. now when I hold CTRL and click on the line it deletes that particular segment in the path. How do I add nodes with the pen tool in 1.9? I tried SHIFT + Clicking and ALT + clicking and neither of those do what I want.

A while ago I hit some random button and all of my tool bars and panels vanished, eventually I was able to get them all back accept the assets panel. It is checked under View>studio>assets. when i uncheck and check it nothing happens. nothing appears and nothing disappears. at least nothing obvious happens How do i get this to appear again?
