It does not have that option. Considering how many V2 features & functions V1 lacks it is unlikely that it ever will. Too many things V1 can't handle would either have to be omitted entirely from the 'save as' or converted to something that was too different from the V2 implementation to be very useful.

but sometime i need it, when i work in PC with upgraded version (v2) and old macbook (high sierra os) which v2 not supported. For me, its ok if they cut some effects or styles when save as old v1, but at least i can open my work at my old mac (cannot upgrade the os). But still i love V2..

And as I answered before, anyone who still has v1 and needs/wants to exchange live Affinity files with someone who has v2. Off the top of my head, here's a list of reasons that someone might still have v1:

    • Someone who doesn't trust v2 yet (and perhaps not for quite awhile) because of the reported bugginess
    • Someone who can't install it because their hardware platform doesn't meet the new v2 requirements
    • Someone who can't install it because there is no MSI installer yet
    • Someone who can't afford v2.

So that could be plenty of v1 users still out there. That leaves the question of why someone with v2 might want to send a file to a v1 user. There are countless possible reasons -- the same sorts of reasons why you might want to export to psd.

I myself am still on v1* because of the first and third reasons above, and I already encountered a situation in which the lack of v1 export was an impediment. There was someone on one of these forums with a problem that I wanted to help with, and I was going to ask him/her to send me their file so I could try to help, but I could see that he/she was using v2, so I didn't even bother trying.

    * I temporarily put v2 on a very old machine to run some experiments, but I subsequently removed it.

    nice points!

maybe my bad.. i use V2 on windows as my desktop pc.. and V1 on 2010 macbook pro (mac os 10.13) for mobile due to V2 req Mac Os 10.15 n up and again my bad .. i dont have a plan to upgrade the macbook... so tell me how can i cross over the work from PC to my mac..

if V2 provide "save as v1" without any effect.. mesh or what ever that not supported on v1, it should be a life saver..

The mitre value you will need depends on the shape of your object. For rectangles, you will need a value that is at least the ratio of the diagonal mentioned in my description above to half the stroke width, regarded as unit length. Since the length of this diagonal, expressed as a multiple of half the stroke width, is an irrational number, it cannot be represented exactly. So you will have to use an approximation that is greater than this irrational number. To give the algorithms a little headroom, I would suggest using at least 1.5 as your value.

But as I said, the necessary mitre value depends on the shape. Have a look at my illustration below. Affinity Designer document attached. :)

Happy belated 6th birthday to this feature request!!! 🥳🥳🥳

As much as I love AD, missing features like this make me question the value of continuing to invest my time in this product when other projects like Vector Styler (which I learned about in this thread) have been developed FROM SCRATCH in less time than it takes the Affinity team to add a highly popular requested feature and had tons of other features that AD doesn't have.

I really do want to make AD my only vector design software, but until it has tracing, warp and mesh tools, calligraphy brushes, and scripting, I will be reluctantly using a mishmash of other tools to fill in the gaps, and sooner or later probably switch to one that can suit all of my needs.

for a year, AD is my daily vector design software.. but i have to go back to corel when i need to tracing some objects.. cant wait for AD 2.0 when everything is completed
