I created a design based on running data that I collected during the last 10 years. I am rather a data scientist than a designer and also a beginner in using Affinity Designer. Nevertheless, I thought I post the results here to get some feedback on this. Highly appreciated.

AI for ipad cant be replaced because its the only app with shape builder.
there are alternative ways to mimic shape builder in AD
1. compunds
=>cant do complicated tasks
2. booleans
=>like above
3. divide then add
=>results in dirty geometry, unnecessary nodes etc
 
as a logo designer and illustrator, i think i cant use AD until it releases a shape builder update
 
besides that, i think AD wins every bit of AI in ipad
 
+ would love to see mesh warp feature for designer. appreciate the AP  one

I made this illustration in Affinity  Designer from scrath

Sympetrum flaveolum commonly known as a yellow winged darter.
I started this ages ago and stopped a few times as I got bored with it due to it being so fiddly. I adjusted it a bit to get rid of some ugly flare. Too much effort for what it is but oh well.
The outlines looks like a black mess so I've just shown a section.

Style patterns

That's a good point but the idea was to explore what we can achieve in Affinity Designer working only with vectors.
Nevertheless I can give you the AirPods in any color you want 😁

Yes we need shape builder tool please consider this request...Shape builder tool saves so much of our time.
 

Dear developers, I have been using Affinity Designer for a while now, and I find it great, but it has some major flaws that make it sometimes very hard to use or, worse, made it necessary to swap back to illustrator (which is great but way worse organized than affinity, and it has the awful subscription service).
 
By adding and/or fixing these few things (most of which very easy I am sure), Affinity Ipad would be most definitely, and by far the best out there.
 
In order of importance:

1) FIX BOOLEAN OPERATIONS: these simply works badly, especially the divide tools, which creates hundreds of useless curves and nodes, and empty lines between divided shapes.
1 "part 2") SHAPE CREATOR: this is a killing feature that illustrator has, and it is missing here, please add it, it makes work flow sometimes SO MUCH EASIER and faster.
 
2) SNAPPING TOOL/MAGNET: not working well, way too many options to adjust it, but still not precise when it comes to snap shapes and curves (as I have shown in the other forum section).
 
3) FREE TRANSFORM/PERSPECTIVE VECTOR SHAPES & CURVES: just like this.
 
4) AUTO SMOOTH CURVES TOOL: this is useful when it comes to quickly reduce unnecessary nodes in shapes, and simplify/make lighter the working process.
 
5) CREATE PATTERN/REPEAT TOOL: this is extremely useful when it comes to create patterns, not sure why it is missing.
 
6) TEXT CORRECTOR: please ADD the option to keep in UNCHECKED, or AT LEAST fix it, it keeps underlining correct words, it is an
 
PLEASE REALLY CONSIDER THESE POINTS, as I really think these would be loved by the whole community here.

Looking good. If by cheatsheet you mean drawing shortcuts then there really isn't much. But I wrote this, something in there might be of use.
I sometimes work on a body panel at at time especially if the shading and reflections are complicated but with this you can't really see them. It looks like you are breaking it down as much as you can. I do it the other way around, the details then the body (the details are more interesting) but it doesn't make any difference.
I export with the photo in colour then you can see how well everything is blending in. Sometimes you decide you need to refine something or adjust a gradient a bit. With b&w it's more tricky. But you must have the colour version there too so perhaps you are doing that.
It is always slow work so don't worry.
Just looked at the file and you might want to put a tiny bit of blur over the whole thing. So group it all and add it to that group. If you don't it will look like it is cutout, edges never look perfectly sharp. Perhaps .1 or .2 pixel on that size, you'll have to see.
Being picky but add some shadow to the yellow part under the bonnet as in the photo.

That's a good start and only another million objects to go  The pic looks like a good choice, no weird reflections or any problem areas. The tyres will take a lot longer than you'd expect, at least that's what I've found.

I've GOT to keep checking this out - it's going to be AMAZING!

After opening his .afdesign file i was like WTfF 🤯🤯🔥 and man tnx for inspiring me and i hope i dont lose interest and will complete  this lambo series 😅😂 !!!
