Look at Window > Studio > and you should find that you have selected Hide Studio. While the Studio is Hidden, you can not adjust the panels that will be visible, so just click that again to enable the Studio.

Thanks for your feedback. We are investigating these issues. Meanwhile, duplicate the Affinity Photo.app file, delete or the original app file to something else, then rename the duplicated app file (remove "copy" from its name) and launch the app. This seems to fix the slow start/bouncing until we find out what's causing the issue.

Every time I load in a new picture to edit it I go to the crop tool. About 95% of the time I want to crop in the same ratio that I took the photo in. I have to think that most people are doing the best they can to frame there photos the way they want them to be. Also there is no use working in free mode as default because it does not relate to printing. It only makes sense to me that the default operation of the crop tool should be set to the ratio that the document is when loaded. 
Having this even as a little check box somewhere as "Default Ratio as Document" in the settings or something would be amazing. 
Anyone else feel the same way?

I tried your suggestion and used OpenGL instead (the way it was in 1.67) and noticed that there was noticeable improvement! That's good news, but the bad news is that 1.67 had better noise reduction (at least on my hardware). Thank you for the suggestion. Will continue to use 1.67 until this issue is resolved.

Denoise is not working since up date on a Mac very disappointed 

I'm on newest macOS and Denoise doesn't seem to work at all. The extreme option was part of my workflow to make interior shots look just AWESOME - now it's gone. If this doesn't get fixed fast I'll have to somehow go back to the old version, so please guys: help us here and fix this..

The new denoise feels like a downgrade compared to 1.65.
I think the algorithm is similar but we are missing the "extreme" options and it gives up too soon (running out of slider length often on some night shots).
 

Since upgrading to 1.7, I am seeing no change at all in noisy photos with the filters where it was clear with the older versions. I'm not sure if there is a problem with my install, whether there is a hidden setting I can't find or whether this is just a bug.
