  1. @carl123 Thank you for your answer. I always save direct to my hard drive and do regular "save as" updates. I also back up to a USB drive once I've finished working on the item. I'm a hobbyist so it's unlikely I'd have anything important enough to bother the team with 😀😀 (I hope). It's good to know that the forum threads are being monitored. I can imagine it's a massive task! 👍
  2. @carl123 Hello - would you know if this thread is being monitored still? I'm just wondering if the reason for these file corruptions is understood by the Affinity team. Thank you.
  3. My apologies, I looked for the version number in the program and it came up with 1.0 but I am using the newest version - I updated it earlier this week.
  4. Hope you don't mind me tagging onto this thread but I've got a problem with corrupt AD files too - on a laptop. In the summer I had so many corrupt files and, eventually, my hard drive broke so I assumed that was the issue. My hard drive was replaced with a new one and laptop/software rebuilt (Windows 10). I've been working on it fine since then and have deleted old corrupt files as and when I find them. I make lots of scrapbook and greetings card designs and whenever I make an Affinity file (I've used Photo, Publisher and Designer) I also create a JPG file for printing. The corrupted files were always Affinity files - no JPGs, PDFs, Documents or Photos on my laptop were corrupted. Over the last few days I've found newly created artboard files in AD to be corrupt. Fortunately I'm backing up to external drive and (now) a USB too as I lost so much work when the hard drive crashed, so I don't need your help to recover a file but just thought I'd report this issue and find out if anything is obvious to you that's not obvious to me. I'm using AD v 1.0 Windows 10 (up-to-date) NVIDIA Gameforce drivers have been updated 2 days ago (I saw mention of them on another post when I searched for the corrupt file issue) I've added the latest corrupt file herewith in case you would like to examine it. 1961812939_MyFloralAssetscont(2).afdesign
  5. @SPaceBar wow that took some finding - hidden icons and all that!!! ccb9b788-f269-4aef-91a7-b95741e8ef72.dmp
  6. Publisher was the only program that didn't go into "not responding" - until I'd finished videoing then it did it 4 times in a row. None of the programs crashed totally or lost Assets through crashing. So far, that's only happened once and the assets loaded through the Affinity updates were lost as well as my own. (As mentioned I do have backups). Publisher_-_stable.mp4
  7. Doing one at a time seems to be working Designer_-_NR.mp4
  8. @SPaceBar - Hi, I have the videos but can't get them to load. They are being queued. They aren't over the MB max total size - they are MP4 files. Can you help? Thanks
  9. Oh, I also have the file sizes for the asset files I was using, that may help. GTD Another Winter’s Tale – 358,791 kb GTD Special Something – 298,004 kb GTD Special Something – 433,013 kb JMadd Creepy – 325,238 kb Synergy Ink Into the Wild – 423,932 kb Synergy Ink Fall Transfers – 103,503 kb
  10. Hi, thank you again for responding. I've got a number of videos for you (if they upload this time). Photo and Designer both were unresponsive, although I caused one of the Designer examples because I clicked on for a New File while the Asset was loading. I had to use Ctrl+Alt-Del on one occasion because it was stuck in a loop. Publisher was OK - I'm not sure if it has actually had the unresponsive problem that I've noticed but I haven't used it much yet.
  11. I tried to upload videos yesterday but they were stuck in a queue for ages. I tried using Gamebar to video but it didn't capture the dropdowns or the bar across the top which signifies the not responding message. I may have to just set up my phone on a tripod and do it that way - unless you can suggest recording software that I could download (I could do with some anyway).
  12. I frequently import and export Assets files as I use Photo for scrapbooking. I often get a white line along the top of the screen and "not responding" which eventually sorts itself out and I can carry on. Since the update a couple of weeks' ago not only have I had the "not responding" message but a crash of Photo. Tonight I was deleting some Assets files from the panel and Photo crashed. All Assets have been deleted. I can't get them back from the Affinity shop because I've already downloaded them once. Luckily I had created them into an Asset file in case this happened. However, I thought I should report the problem anyway.
  13. Thank you so much. I do scrapbooking in Photo and use brushes quite a lot. This will really help.
  14. Wow, thank you. I'm using brushes a lot in my scrapbooking work. These will really help.
  15. Thank you, I needed more styles. I used a tutorial yesterday to learn how to create them myself. These look nice.
  16. @walt.farrell I deleted my assets from the panel then closed down the program. I then found the propcol file - it was 1KB. I might add a few kits to see what KB size it gets up to before I get the "not responding" message. if that happens, should I report it to anyone as an ongoing issue?
  17. @firstdefence I've tried using my general Windows folder set up. I have kits saved in separate folders (they often have different licences) but I can go to a folder, take an embellishment, then when I go back again Windows has changed the file type dropdown so it looks like nothing is there; or it's gone back to another folder that was open earlier. It's a bit annoying. It's much quicker to have everything in the assets panel - especially when you're trying to put a page together and are trying different backgrounds, embellishments etc. The colour palettes, brushes etc are not a problem because they go into their relevant panel easily enough and I don't get the "not responding" problem with them. I found how to undock the Assets panel last night and stretched it to it's full extent which gave me a slightly better view but nowhere near as good as Craft Artist. Another problem is that many of us have existing Craft Artist kits - they are Pack Files and can't be undone successfully. So to make one into a file useable in Affinity it's necessary to put the embellishments onto a page in Craft Artist then Export them as individuals onto a page in Affinity. Then Select All Layers and move them into the Assets panel. This can take quite a while - I normally put about 20 embellishments or 10 backgrounds on one Craft Artist file to be Exported then keep on repeating until the whole CA kit has been converted into an Assets files. It's laborious but I have some lovely kits that I don't want to buy all over again.
  18. @walt.farrell thank you I will try that. In the meantime I'll continue to make my Assets files Thanks for your help.
  19. @walt.farrell Found it, eventually. If I ensure all of the assets are backed up (I've added a new one) would it help if I go through that procedure to clear the User Data option for the Assets?
  20. @PaulEC Sorry, I forgot to say, before I found the Assets panel I was browsing my kit folders in Windows - it was a bit laborious, especially since Windows often didn't go back to the folder I was working from or decided I was looking for a different type of file so I had to change the dropdown box to find my elements etc. So, putting a kit into the Assets panel is marginally better than working from my Windows folder setup.
