Soo, I just came across this issue when exporting PNG and it scares me that it has been years and still not fixed. I have to use PS just for exporting PNG-8 because it is just way better. Did anyone found working settings maybe?
When area selected - in export default should be Selection Area
in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop

Solution to this please, give us at least some option to change this default behavior. I basically never use export whole document in my work.
