  1. hi @Old Bruce The original images has a lot of colors, it's pixelated (vs. vector). I've stretched it and played around with the shape.

The color overlay looks like it's vector to me because I can zoom into it, without any pixelation.

I want to remove the underlying image but keep the color overlay (100% opacity)

    I'm using Affinity Publisher

  2. Hi,

Is there a way to remove the underlying image which takes up file space, but leave its color overlay (100% opacity) ?

I'm trying to reduce the file size of my file. So I want to remove the actual image but keep the overlay color

    Thank you

FYI: I have all three affinity products and thank you for this great application.

I may be wrong but did you type over, or change some of the text from the Master Page? Did you change it in anyway at all on the Actual page before making the colour change on the master page?

hi @Old Bruce I never change the text in the Master Page. I only changed the text in the child page.

  5. Hi,

    for Affinity publisher:
Any reason why changing color of text in master page doesn't get updated in the child pages?

I have changed the context of child text and after, I noticed it stopped updating the color, although it would update the location (when I change it in the mater) or the effects (like when I add outline in the mater, child would get updated. But not the color). Any way to get this working again?

Thank you all that you do,

    Ayman

Forgot to add: For text fields that never had any changes in content, changing the color in the master will work as expected (i.e. it also  change the color in the child page)

  6. Looks like my Adobe pdf Viewer had "Replace Document Colors" checked! Not sure how this even happened. I unchecked it.

I never touched adobe preferences but somehow it was checked. I'm sorry to lead on a wild goose chase but if you had not checked it from your end I would have been perpetually stuck. Luckily it's now solved.

I started looking and fixed it according to this youtube video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N7PgpkH8lM basically the screenshot below. I remove the check mark and it worked

    Thank you @NotMyFault and @walt.farrell

This is really my bad for wasting your time like that :/ I really tried to find solution before posting here. I was investigating for whole week

  7. hi

Background color not picking up color when exporting to pdf. I just get white color instead of yellow. Anyone had this problem before? Thanks

I never had any issue with this until recently. I didn't change anything.

When I export to PNG or JPEG background color picks up correctly (i.e. yellow), but when I export to PDF, for some reason it doesn't pick it up. It shows as white instead of Yellow. Anyone else had this problem? I don't think I've had it before.

  8. Anyway to squish the pattern so it narrows down. I thought it was ctrl+click. I tried shift and ctrl and alt combinations.

The mouse pointer should change from a cross  with arrows, to a two arrow icon  (horizontal or vertical) to allow you to squeeze it down from either horizontal or vertical axis.

You can squish the pattern with both horizontal and vertical axis at same time but I just want to do it with vertical axis (so that it gets squished see figure 2

    thanks

figure 2: I want to squish it, without having to squish the circle
