  1. 100% agree! Im not gona moan cos I think Affinity are doing an excellent job... forced myself to use publisher this week instead of ID and I’m so in love!!!! The workflow, the simplicity, the modern design, the uncluttered feel. Affinity will be my future for sure. As soon as Vector Pattern Fills, Vector Brushes and a measuring tool that does curves (come on this one is so friggin simple) become available You can sign me up for life and I’ll boot Adobe out the door!
  2. @dominik just informing others who are requesting this feature as it may be helpful to them. Sadly this feature in AP is not useful to me and others wanting vector patterns. Yes I’m aware of the data merge function but honestly it’s complicated, not user friendly and lacks features. Appreciate your constructive discussion. cheers
  3. So, out of curiosity..... what does the L field show when a curved stroke is selected??
  4. Agreed, I find image trace to be excellent. It does of course depend on the quality of original image. This tool has saved my ass many times when deadlines are getting close and some lazy clients are not providing logos... a quick google search and image trace does wonders to recreate a logo. This tool is an essential part of my workflow and I look to it arriving in Designer.
  5. I see a “Pattern Fill” function has been added to Affinity Photo in the 1.9 update!!! Grrrrr why for photo and not designer!?? Hopefully it will come across soon. Still waiting on my Adobe free future.
  6. Did you all see that a “Pattern Fill” function has been added to Affinity Photo in the 1.9 update!!! Grrrrr why for photo and not designer!?? Hopefully it will come across soon. Still waiting on my Adobe free future.

  8. Thank you 😊 Gutted they haven’t added curve measurement yet. Soon I hope.
  9. What is the “L” field for?? Does this represent length?? Does this mean we can measure curved lines??
  10. Great news! That’s one step closer to what I need. Next is a measuring tool that provides length of curves and angled lines.
  11. Great work around Gear Maker 🙂 I do hope AF add a measurement tool though.... and perhaps something easier to read and find than the Ai one
  12. +1 for a way to measure/know the length of a curved path or stroke. I use Designer for technical patterns to scale and need to know exact lengths sometimes.
  13. Hi Carlos, Nice to see another Kiwi on here There is a view option for showing/hiding objects that are off the artboard. View / View Mode / Clip To Canvas or use the backslash key "\" as a shortcut, works pretty well actually.
  14. Update to want list..... 1. Pattern Brushes - STILL WAITINGThe Ability to turn any vector shape into a repeating pattern brush.A feature commonly used to create stitching brushes in fashion design.2. Brush Profiles - FEATURE COMPLETEThe ability to add a shape profile to a brush.3. Image Tracing - STILL WAITINGThe Ability to automatically trace a raster image and create a vector version.4. Pattern Creation - STILL WAITINGThe Ability to create a repeating pattern or print that can be saved as a swatch and used as a fill. 5. Offset Path Tool - FEATURE COMING SOONA tool that automatically draws a path parallel to an existing path at a specified distance.
  15. Thank you ESPR, Didnt realise I could save the profiles, this is very helpful
  16. Turns out Geologists and Fashion Designers are not that far apart after all 😉😉 Yes this is a valuable feature that I hope will be coming soon.
  17. I don’t quite understand the “need to divide object” part but I’m here for this. Now I’m just waiting for a pattern brush feature before I jump the Adobe boat.
