Hi I have noticed that a photo catalog feature for Affinity has been requested for some time. I am adding my request to that “list”. I am still using lightroom and have been able to use that with Affinity photo (If installing with msi). However Lr does not support .afphoto files. I found a nice photo organizer that can display thumbnails for Affinity photo files (Photo Supreme). It is not perfect so I will continue to Lr until I can find something else. I hope Affinity comes with some sort of an organizer in the future. Regards Jan

Hi I am using designer to create game assets. The export functionality is very good. I just have a little request. When exporting into ex. Unity it is common to use compression. For this to work the pixel width/height must be multiple of 4. Ex. 912x924 work. 912x923 does not. My request: Have an option when creating a slice from layer that creates width/height numbers that can be divided by a number (like 4). (I change the slices manually now and this work, but it takes some time when having a large number of assets) Regards

Hi I have finally made the switch to just working with the Affinity. I use the assets functionality a lot. In the previous program i used my assets were stored in the cloud. Does affinity have any backup or cloud save available for the asset’s library? Regards

Hi I have universal Affinity package. The ability to have good tools for both vector and pixel are amazing. To do this I have to start publisher and use designer and photo persona. However, this solution does not have an export persona. It would be nice if export persona was added to publisher, or add complete designer persona to photo (if licensed) Regards

Feature request for Photo. Here are three features I hope the developers could consider adding. A) Easy and fast method to add clipping layer to a group. B) Convert layer to embedded document. C) Gradient paint tool (destructive), to paint multiple gradients fast onto one layer. Click-drag-release. Attached example of clipping to group and gradients painting. Regards clipping-group.mkv Gradienttool.mkv

Hi. In PhotoShop beta there is now Live Gradients. It works very similar to Affinity’s gradients. You can select which method to use, Live or Classic. See attached picture. Perhaps Affinity could make an alternative method as I described above, and add that to the method selection of the gradient tool.?

Hi Symbols in Designer is a great feature. However, I need Symbols in Photo too since I do most of my art in Affinity Photo. I re-use and change multiple “objects” when creating a game scene. Symbols are later exported to Unity. I have complete software series so I can use symbols when switching to Designer Persona in Publisher. This is an issue since Affinity Publisher removes other features like Export Persona that I need. My request is to enable Symbols in Affinity Photo too. (The embedded document option is not a good solution for my work). Best regards

I have been using Pixel layers. I can see this is not the correct method. Fill layers as suggested was much better and easy to just copy/paste for more gradients. I still like the easy drag & drop multiple times like shown i the video i attached above. If the developers had an option to be added to the existing gradient tool that would be nice 🙂 (Must also be able to use on masks)

Hi I am not sure u understand what I mean. The workflow working with multiple gradients in Affinity photo are a bit difficult and slow. Attached is a very short clip from Thomas Brush 2D game art course where he is adding some shadow to a window. This is from “real life” example creating game art. When the gradient tool is selected, and the colors, u can just drag and drop multiple times. It works almost like a brush. This is also used a lot on masks. It is very fast to work with, and it is used all the time during creation of art like this. In affinity this workflow is to slow. I can make a nested layer and select gradient tool and set colors. If I need more gradients, I must make a new layer again. I must also re-select the gradient colors from the swatch again since they gets reset back again. I have made it easier in affinity. I have shortcuts for Insert Inside and New layer. (CTRL-SHIFT + M, N). When working with masks it seems I cannot use shortcuts for some reason. The best solution would be a feature to add multiple gradients with just drag and drop. Or perhaps it could be a “gradient” brush of some kind.. Regards 2023-01-02 19-47-29.mkv

HI. I am aware that it is possible to use multiple layers with one gradients on each. I wrote in my request; " Adding multiple gradients on a pixel layer". If u look at my video you can see how much faster the workflow is when u can just drag and drop multiple times on the same layer. Your solution is not what i am requesting.

Hi I have a feature request for a gradient tool to be added to Pixel persona or Affinity photo. Attached I show you how this tool could work. Adding multiple gradients on a pixel layer. Before I switched to Affinity, I used this tool all the time. I miss it a lot. It would be very nice if you could add this feature. Happy new year 😊 Best regards Gradienttool.mkv

Btw: It seems PSDImporter supports PSD extension from version 7.0 (Official - 2D PSD Importer 7.0 released for Unity 2022.1 - Unity Forum)

+1 I really hope the developers could add this feature to Affinity photo so it is more "compatible" with unity.

Gradient tool overhaul
eiketre replied to phoenixart's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Yes i see it has been discussed earlier. I tried studio and designer where u can add multiple, but i have to stick with photshop until i can do what phoenixart shows in the video above. I use it all the time, so i have to stick with ps. I hope the devs. reads the comments and decide to make a similar tool. -
Gradient tool overhaul

I have all the tools from Affinity and they are fantastic. However i am still using Photoshop for my 2d game art due the gradient tool. In photoshop i just drag a gradient line and paint on multiple times very quickly. There must be a way for Affinity to solve or implement a simmilar feature?
