I append here the three images cropped and displayed at 100% of the original images. I can see, as I wrote earlier, that the AP 1.8 shows the banding and the other two do not (although the 1.9 image hints at it). Ideally I would have been starting with either a 100% zoom screenshot or the original image.

    AP1.8:

Hello everyone, All three Affinity programs in version 1.8.5 can no longer be started. Without info. New installation also not possible. Message from Windows. "Affinity Installer broken".

My System: Win10 pro 2004, Systembuild: 19041.630, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0

    I need help!!!

    Best regards!

P.S. I think it's because of the last Windows update?

I have updated also the Windows to 20H2 and Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0, My Affinity programs didn't impact it,  all running well, perhaps you update through Media Creation Tools? My update through Windows Assistance Update, 1 month ago.

Please try to Uninstall & Re-install all your Affinity programs and update to the latest Affinity programs, hope everything running well.

    Regards,

  3. Dear all,

Here  I made a new screen shot with enlarge 200% in Affinity Photo apps, now the screen shot I attached without crop.

    *Open by Affinity Photo 1.8.5.703

200% open by Affinity Photo 1.8.5.703.jpg

*Open by Affinity Photo Beta Version 1.9.0.852

200% enlarge with Affinity Photo 1.9.0.852.jpg

With Affinity Photo Beta Version 1.9.0.852 there is more gradation/artefact  in colours, and open with Affinity Photo 1.8.5.703 less colour gradation/artefact even not smooth when open with Lightroom.

Please investigate it for this phenomenal and waiting the solution.

    Best regards,

    Dear John,

Yes I enlarge for all with the same magnification around 200% and my monitor has calibrated with the Spyder Pro 4, as per screenshot the file open by Photo version 1.9.0.834 the picture more bending then two others, and there are gradation in the tone colour as look separate colours.

We hope the solution for this case.

    Regards,

For the additional information I only crop the area not crop by enlarge the screenshot, so it's mean nothing deviation of the picture between the screen shot of three apps and the screen shot I attached here. Three screen shots I have attached were actually what I got it by three applications.

@HANDJOJO to me, these images all look the same. For a valid comparison, you need to capture and display all three images at 100%. This will probably mean cropping the display images to around 800px.

    Dear John,

Yes I enlarge for all with the same magnification around 100% (in Affinity Photo and Lightroom, not the screen shot I made it), and my monitor has calibrated with the Spyder Pro 4, as per screenshot the file open by Photo version 1.9.0.834 the picture more bending then two others, and there are the gradation in the colour tonal as look like separate colours.

We hope the solution for this case.

    Regards,

  6. Here I have open the file submitted, I open used Affinity Photo ver 1.8.5.703 & Affinity Photo Beta Version 1.9.0.834 and Lightroom for the comparation, here the sample:

As per result the Affinity Photo Beta version 1.9.0.834 more bending then Affinity Photo version 1.8.5.703.

Probably the codec to read a TIFF?

    •  Changing eye gaze angle
    •  Turning angle of face
    • add a smile or a frown onto the photo model you are editing -waaaAt!
    • Automatic sky replacement - Sick!
    •  Much more..

It’s almost coming across as if customizing a character inside a RPG game, stuff like this indicates to me... we are definitely moving into software you would see in a Sci Fi movie.

The era of Cloud computing and AI machine learning algorithms are getting closer. Features like these ever reach Affinity Photo on iPad game over!! I will pay serif for an update like this.

FaceApp in Android already this similar features of Neurall Filter at least 1.5 Years ago.

Like you have a Ferrari & Hummer, you cannot driven in the same terain, both have a speciallity.

  8. I would very appreciate if for the incoming version of the Affinity Publisher would be have the new features as follows:

    1. Customable Bleed/Margin Color (already add it, in the betta new version),

    2. Automatic Footnote & Endnote,

    3. The line thickness  of Text Frame it is better with thinner line as well as for the dot handle, so didn't covered the world in the up left corner

    4. The Text Frame always appear instead of automatic hide during typing, so during typing can control the rest space of the text frame.

    5. The Right Studio can minimize like The Right Studio on the IPAD, so the working space/document view have the extra space.

    6. The Right Studio by default not expanded the panel when select the tools, for i.e when selecting the Character the sub menu not expanded, to avoid extra time to close it due to not all sub menu will be use at that time.

    6. Is it possible to have the Equation Editor in the incoming version, we really appreciated. 🙏

    Awaiting the reply.

    Thanks & B/regards,

    Hi HANDJOJO,

Unfortunately there is no way to import colour swatches at the moment the menu you have found is for creating palettes from your current document.

    Thanks

    C

Thanks Callum, for your informatiom,  unfortunatelly cannot cross working with the same function of swatches between IPAD and desktop. We hope for the incoming version 1.9 will add this function.

You see this difference because the print drivers use an RGB printing model. When you Print to PDF, you end up with a RGB pdf. When you Export a PDF, you end up with the colour profile you of your choice (if supported by the pdf model you select).

Why don't you use the dedicated PDF Export option, and not the Print to PDF. You have 0 control over what comes out of Print to PDF.

    Dear Gabe,

Thanks for your advice, what is the reason I used the Direct Print as PDF, that I have the document to be print as facing pages, if I use export to PDF the PDF document for 1'st & last page as independent page not as facing page even I have create the document to be facing page, if I'm not wrong in Print Menu there are menu how to control the Color Handling: whether by Printer or Performance by Application under Color Management, the sample I have been share is Direct Print as PDF & Export as PDF (the result should be same, cause for both use the same Color Format & Color Profile).

Sorry I send the sample again what the reason I use the Print as PDF as per attached.

Above is the sample between Export as PDF and Print as PDF

  11. Dear All,

To complete my report please find enclosed two PDF with same documents, one Direct Print as PDF in CMYK and another as RGB:

*PDF File created through menu Print as PDF CMYK Color (Japan 2001 Coated)

Direct Print to PDF as CMYK.jpg

*PDF file created through menu Print as RGB Color

Direct Print to PDF as RGB.jpg

As you can see both result appear to be reserved, which in CMYK the color result "Bright", however in RGB the color to be "Soft".

Please investigate it and give the suggestion how solve this phenomenon.

Awaiting the information and thank you for your kind attention.

    Best regards,

  12. Dear Affinity Support,

For clear information I attached some screeen shot and related PD files & *afdesign.

Please help me I'm seriously got the problem with this phenomenon.

    Awaiting ASAP reply & advise.
