  1. Indeed not. The next largest RAM consumer is Firefox at around 900MB. I haven't checked VLC (for background noise) nor Rawtherapee (for RAW processing). Apart from the time delay we very rarely have issues. (There have been other times with the old server.) I do copy my projects with "unison" between work and home via a 32GB MicroSD card on a daily basis. No problem there. I still don't buy this argument after three decades of computer usage. I started out with machines at around 8MB RAM and 250MB of internal storage in 1991. Over the years I upgraded both resources at a factor of 1000, but guess what, it never ever matched my own productivity—the machines were always faster and larger than I had use for.
  2. Amendment re storage usage: At work we are required to store all our projects on the centrally managed NAS, which has more TB than I care to count, so the SSDs only hold installed programs. At home, my private Mac Mini M1 with "228Gi" SSD is "59%" full after two years of use (according to "df -h"). If need be, I could always move stuff to any of my backup SSDs.
  3. Simultaneously opening half a dozen (6) of my recent APub projects requires about 1.7 GB of RAM on MacOS 13.6.1 Ventura on the Mac Mini M1 described above. I really don't feel the system gets bogged down in any way, shape, or form at all. Using linked ressources keeps all of these projects at around 500–700 KB (yes, Kilobytes!). I guess my gist is: Don't listen to the fearmongers! 😇
  4. I've been using Affinity V1 and V2 on Mac Mini M1 in its base configuration—8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD—both at work and in private since 2021 and haven't faced any obstacles with this combination.
  5. Also SVG comes to mind, e.g., as export format from InkScape.
  6. I guess it just has low priority. I am aware of other programs that do not support the "Recent" feature.
  7. Just a note: (a) You seem to mix upper- and lowercase ‘x’ (vs. ‘X’) and ‘y’ (vs. ‘Y’), and (b) you are using ‘hyphen’ (-) instead of ‘minus’ (−). 🧑‍🏫
  8. Here's an update for this issue in Affinity V2: At least in Affinity Designer 2.2.0 on macOS Monterey with German keyboard and layout the “Inline Help” (eb0ee) does not react to neither ‘cmd +’ nor ‘cmd -’, i.e., the font size in the Help Viewer doesn't change at all. (In Affinity V1 at least ‘cmd -’ worked in a few steps.) For a better user experience, I have created a small HTML file for import in Firefox (also tested with Tor Browser) with two sets of bookmarks for Affinity Help: Affinity V1 Online Help (045b0) Local Help (8ab56) Affinity V2 Online Help (f8ef9) Local Help (eb0ee) In the web browser you can scale the font size to your heart's content. Enjoy! affinity-help.html
  9. It's the same if I start out in Light Mode. The state of the Symbol Sync toggle is clearly visible. But if I switch to Dark Mode, the Toggle becomes black. And if I switch back toLight Mode, the Toggle stays light.
  10. My new colleague can begin to explore Affinity Designer V2.2.0 with the new key–mouse combination. However, now we are looking for a possibility to give the Transform Origin absolute coordinates.
  11. Thanks, @walt.farrell, that's exactly what I was looking for! I'll discuss this with my boss.
  12. No, it only has a bluetooth dongle. I studied the Apple info today: with a physical keyboard with a numeric pad, I can get things going ('0' for "click-hold" and '.' for "release"). (I did not try a compact keyboard and the character keys.) However, for key strokes my colleague uses the screen keyboard.
  13. Yes, it's not really a mouse per se; it's a pair of static buttons for left- and right-click, and a joystick for movement. He can't click the button and kick the stick simultaneously. (There are more advanced devices: https://www.gorlo-todt.de/produkte/maussimulatoren/, but we don't have one at hand right now.) BTW, this is with Affinity V1 on macOS; Windows seems to have a software for "click-and-hold" that works for his needs.
  14. A new colleague uses a very simple two-button mouse that does not allow to "click-drag". Is there a way to create new "Form" objects with some keyboard combination? Any default position and size would be fine; using the "Transform" studio panel to reposition/resize is feasible.
  15. PPS: Here's an article that describes the demise of Hasselblad's X scanners: https://www.davidebarranca.com/2019/12/2019-12-07/2019-12-07-hasselblad-flextight-flexcolor-3f/
  16. Will there also be a rebuilt Affinity V1? (1.10.7 or 1.11? – also in light of reported issues with Sonoma.)
  17. Because of the huge panel of release notes next to the upgrade button? 😉 Personally, I'll wait at least until 14.4. (I started with Ventura 13.5 and Monterey 12.6.)
  18. I wouldn't expect a solution in Affinity anytime soon. Skimming a few articles and sites on this topic, I find that—despite the prize tag of their products,—Hasselblad seem reluctant to support FFF. From Hasselblad Flextight X5 (23,500€) I come to FlexColor 4.8.13 (free [?] download as of August 12, 2011; the plugin for CS is 32 bit only). From FFF I come to 3FR and to Phocus 3.7.5 (as of August 31, 2023), which expressly is not compatible with FFF (and vice versa). Good luck! PS: Even Adobe Camera Raw doesn't seem to support FFF files created by FlexColor (anymore).
  19. Choose the Move tool Select the curve you want to move Choose the Node tool Select all nodes of the curve (dragging a selection box), so that these nodes are blue Shift-click on the second curve, so that its nodes are white circles Click-drag one of the blue nodes and move it (together with the whole curve) over one of the white circles of the other curve (there should be an indication in yellow along both lines)
