Text won't recognize after exporting to PDF

Hi all, I am trying to export a PDF I made in Affinity Photo - however, when I do so, the text from the document doesn't recognize (i.e. cannot be highlighted). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or a workaround? Thank you!
