The only way I could get this to work the way I think you are wanting is to make a mask and have it over the pixel layer then select both the Mask and the Pixel layer below it and enter the Liquify Persona. This will distort the Pixel layer and the mask. Then you have to clip the Pixel layer with the mask in order to see the background.

Thankyou, This is a good workaround.

However I still believe the option should be added to edit both the pixel layer and the mask together while the mask clips the pixel layer. If I need to be able to see the background in the liquify persona I can't do that when the mask is released.

  2. I use affinity photo primarily for photo manipulation/retouching and often use the liquify tool.

However, if the layer I want to liquify has a mask this becomes a problem because the pixels will move but the mask won't. For example, if I masked out the background a person and then afterwards decided I wanted to change their proportions with liquify, I would have to redo the masking process to fit the new proportions.

This is super infuriating and wastes alot of time. What would be great is if there was a checkbox which you could check to edit the pixel layer and the mask at the same time.

I don't think this would be super hard to implement, and would be incredibly helpful. I'm pretty sure the mask moves with the pixel layer in photoshop by default.

    Thankyou!
