  1. Hello all, do you know a trick to cut from 2 images at the same time? I need that for a seamless background where i cut the image in the middle and put it together inversed. The challenge with this method is to find a point where the image material matches. It would be great to have a loop point editor with crossfade to really smoothen this out. I made a video to demonstrate it. Bildschirmaufnahme 2022-07-09 um 16.43.27.mp4
  2. Thank you very much Nathan. Unfortunately the node tool is not able to adjust the guides, but placing them does work
  3. Thank you NotMyFault, i have seen this solution in a YT tutorial and thought this cant be the ultimate solution... I hope Affinity will simplify this in an update.
  4. Hello all, i can only snap my guides to the upper 3 edges of a 5 edge polygon. I made a video to demonstrate it. Am i missing something or is that a bug? Bildschirmaufnahme 2022-07-03 um 18.26.26.mov
  5. I have tried this on the desktop version and it doesnt seem to work as described. I think whats desired here is to invert the effect of the mask so that the area outside the shape gets visible and the object itself reveals the masked layer. Did anyone here manage to do this in Affinity? For demonstration purposed I faked it by making the circle a donut and enlarging it until it covers all the masked layer.
  6. Yes, i am just about to explore all this. Its just a bit strange that this is only possible with the Layer effects and not with the gradient tool upon the group? The tool gives a bit more flexibility because you can directly see what you are doing while you use it. Anyway, you helped me a lot WKansepa - thank you again.
  7. Thank you GarryP, thats exactly what i am trying to do. There is one problem with this method: When i reorder the elements in the group - the position of the gradient doesnt change. Its static, like printed onto the group members and doesnt allow to adjust the objects inside the influence of the gradient Please have a look here, this explains the stepped mode gradient.
  8. Hello all, i am trying to archive a stepped gradient in Affinity (Photo or Designer) I have seem this feature in Resolume and really like the flexibility of it. It is actually not a gradient anymore because the color borders are 100% hard. and here comes the tricky part: I would like to apply it to several objects. I was trying to group some circles and apply a gradient on the group, but thats not the solution. In other words: Its like a color palette applied on several objects. The advantage for me is that i can create shapes and patterns and can easily change the color in whatever stage of the process. I hope you know a trick to get there.
  9. I found a solution: the blend mode "erase" is much better suited for this. I added 2 objects into the image, not as masks but the indent nesting method. Then set the objects to erase and they will only affect the image they are nested in.
  10. Thank you very much @ashf This works but i cant edit the group anymore after i dropped it onto the image. Even when i select "edit mask" i cant adjust the individual shapes in this group. Is there a way to keep the edit functionality of the mask group?
  11. Hello all, i am trying to add several vector shapes as masks to an image. I drag an rectangle onto the image thumbnail - this works: the image is cropped to the shape that was added. But when i add the second shape onto the same image, the both masks only reveal the image where they overlap. I am looking for a way to add the second mask independently from the first one, is that possible in designer?
  12. Hello all, when dragging a text/box the default parameter that changes is Fontsize. Is it possible to transform the kerning instead?
  13. Hello all, in Photoshop and there is a function to substract a form by itself. Thats very handy when you want to create a frame: just add a rectange and substract it - makes an instant frame. I am trying to do the same in Designer, do you know a way?
