  1. I just got it to close by clicking the green button it somehow helped to unfreeze what was stuck. it makes no sense but hopefully it won't happen again.
  2. My files are in the iCloud. I can't close affinity and because it remains frozen I can't shut down my computer. It is still frozen so this can't be an update that is legitimate.
  3. I have never seen this before but there is alittle black box in the upper right hand corner under my tool bar that says "updating file..." It appeared 4 hours ago and I cannot exit out of affinity. I can search on safari and open other programs. Are you updating at this time or is this an error?
  4. Yes but I failed to update the file in the cloud because of going out of town for a family emergency, so I left town without the flash drive. I have since replaced the files. We are scratching our heads as to how this happened, but you are right I sure won't forget to back up again Thanks everyone for the support
  5. OK I will look for other explanations at my end and I agree I only have the illustrations on cloud storage and need to save my work on a back up file more frequently. Thanks it is good to know it isn't a bug.
  6. I lost 2 pictures after serif shutdown when I reopened the files. All files were saved previously, but were open at the time of the shutdown, because I was working on comparing items within 3 of them. When I closed one of the files and serif had an unexpected shutdown two of them were gone and removed from the I Cloud Drive when I reopened serif. Is this a bug? I am illustrating a children's book and the work that was lost is of course a lot of hours of work and I am fearful this will happen again. Thank you for your support.
  7. That solved it not sure why in the past it merged two different shapes together but will turn off the stroke key from now on
  8. I was having an issue with selecting a shape and an unrelated shape attached itself to the original shape. I now have repeated a similar problem with a cloud shape drawing an outer cloud shape that is transparent around it. I have taken a snapshot of my six year old granddaughters picture that I was helping her with. We drew many shapes and all had the same additional outline. Still can't repeat the additional shape issue.
  9. When I selected the crescent shape another shape layered over it that looked like a jelly bean. It happened 4 times and so I had to delete each shape individually and after closing that file it didn't happen again. I went to the next file and drew a cloud and this time a rectangle with a cutout to accommodate the cloud was attached to the side of the cloud. After deleting I re-booted my system and so far no problems. Is this a bug?
  10. Just found the problem I was working on clouds and had set the transparency to 40 percent so problem is fixed. Thanks for the support anyway. You guys are great.
  11. On an existing file I worked on 6 months ago the rgb sliders will not go all the way to black on the foreground but will go to black on the outline. All other files are working correctly and I have tried eliminating my pen and using the mouse and there is no change. Is the file corrupted and if I copy and paste the file to a new file will it still be corrupted?
  12. It now works thank you. I am brand new to the Mac as well as Affinity so things are difficult at first. You will notice it took me three hours to figure out how to screen capture and send. Sorry for the duplicate post. I was thought I was previewing before sending. Again thank you.
  13. I am wondering if there is a bug in the RGB selection of sliders. I cannot view G and B only R because the color selector is the size of the box selection. Is this a bug that is being fixed.
