Combining Text Frames
in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

I just bought Affinity Publisher, hoping it can affordably do some very basic things that I can't do with a plain word processor. One of these is to draw a frame, then second frame that partly overlaps the first frame, and then select both frames and have the two frames combine. Or one is subtracted from the other. Hard to put in words, here's an illustration. Can I do this in Affinity Publisher? I know that there's a text wrapping function, but I've come to prefer combining frames.
