  1. Hi Thomaso, I really appreciate your detailed response. I tried option B and that worked great. Created new project and then pasted the formatted text. Couple of missing elements and had to go through and insert page breaks for some new chapters. Otherwise it worked great. Thank you. Ray
  2. Hi all, I imported a 400 page novel, and after much work, realized I'd not set the gutter margin. I also did'nt set facing pages on the master, so have two single masters. A and B. I need to do a master reset of the text box to deal with the gutter issue. Any tips please? I have tried resetting the text box on both masters and applying to all selected pages, odds then evens but nothing changes. Thank you.
  3. Thanks for the super reply, I'll certainly be doing that for the next book. Chapter by chapter. Thanks, TheOtherRoland. RR
  4. Hey Thomaso, many thanks, I'll try that. Not sure why it resized, something happened, the original dropped half the embedded images too. PS love Cologne, worked there for a summer. Regards RR
  5. Hi all, I made a copy of a book project, 200 pages then worked on it. I then saw that the copy had not also carried over the spread setup size. Now when I try to change it from 7 x10 inch, to 6x9 inch, the pages content runs off the sides, only the spread setup changes, not the content. Is there a way to just export it in 6 x 9? I will lose my hair if I have to go through and redo the whole book, not an option to be honest. Thanks loads for any help. Ray
  6. Thanks. Not sure where that leaves me then. I think page locks would be very useful as there are on video editing layers. There must be a way, will have to keep trying. Cheers. RR
  7. Thanks loads, as it was a large book with 170 pages of text pasted in, I had to link the frames initially. I'll have to yet watch the tutorials on master pages. Thanks, learning...
  8. Thanks Old Bruce. I pasted 170 pages of text into Affinity from word, using a preset font and paragraph into an autoflow frame, it worked so good, that's a lot of pages. I then began to arrange the pages and inserted styles and images. I am a third of the way though the book. I missed some images and want to insert them, even if it means adding a new page or two. But, when I want to add them into a page, in between paragraphs, when I create the space, the autoflow moves all the text on the following pages. So perhaps is there a way to unlink the book's text frames in the pages already completed but leave auto flow on for the remaining ones? Cheers RR
  9. Hi, I have real problems with autoflow text, also with page breaks not preventing follow on pages changing. Example, on review of a project, we need to insert an image, or text perhaps. We want to only change the current page. But when we make any changes at all, the following pages are all disrupted with text and images all over the place. Is there a function to lock pages that are finished?
  10. Thanks, I'll try it out to see. May have to redo images in BW throughout. A lot of work for a 130 page book! 😞
  11. Hi, I'm new to this and am creating books, some only with text, others with lots of images for print and for eBook. The cost of printing color for a large picture book can be high, so I want the option to export a B&W (Greyscale) PDF for that as well as the color one. I've looked through the comments and the solution seems either not there or a workaround is complicated. I don't have indesign or any other software. Any ideas? Thanks Ray
