  1. Hello James Thanks a lot. All these videos are really helpful to discover new features or to refresh my memory about a particular function. May I suggest something though ? Would it be possible to add the date each video was published, so it would be easy to spot quickly the new ones when we didn't have a look on the forum or the web site for a while ? (I know... we shouldn't ;) ) Thanks again for all that work. It's another difference with Affinity product compared to other editors. Online help is great but a visual demonstration is just perfect !
  2. I guess the status for this plugin is "unknown"... As Andy pointed it out, the list needs to be populated PS. And by the way, great job guys, sounds like great new features !
  3. Thank you Matt, always helpful ;) I guess, like Dave pointed it out, there's no point to go over the size of the machine RAM. May be you should modify the scale dynamically so the maximum is the max available RAM.
  4. Well everything is already said. I can just add that I agree ;) Very nice Paolo
  5. Cool ! Thank you Miguel and thank you LilleG for asking ;)
  6. Just got it and I like it too :) Very clean, nicely done. Thanks for sharing Dennis
  7. Hi hero ric Be sure to move your adjustment layer as a child of the pixel layer you want to modify, by dragging it under and to the right. You should have a look at this video tutorial about managing correctly layers. Hope that helps.
  8. Hi bamboo8R Just amazing ! The shadows and highlights are so well done... I'm stunned Very good
  9. Hi ronnyb I knew the button on the context bar but not the shortcut. Thanks for that, great tip ! :) And yes, I agree with you about keeping the last active one. +1
  10. Thank you George :) I appreciate your comment because it was the goal.
  11. Hi Tiago I'm far from being a guru but I'll try to answer your questions (and I don't know AI). 1. You have to activate snapping and be sure your shapes are curves. You can then snap points of the shapes. 2. Personally I use Esc key 3. I don't know if there is a shortcut for that but you have a button in the context bar 4. Yes. With the pen tool, just click without dragging and create two points, you'll have a straight line 5. Yes. Ctrl+Alt and drag I would recommend you, if you haven't done yet, to download the trial version and give it a try by yourself to see if it meets your needs. :)
  12. Hi everybody I finally found some time to work seriously with AD. It's inspired from a photo, the screen is an actual screenshot of my own iPhone. I had one major problem, it's the gradient on the lower corner. I didn't find a proper way to blend it with the sides. At the end, it's just a ghost shape with a gradient and a mask manually painted, trying to avoid to be too visible. If you have recommendations to improve that, let me know ! Criticisms and advice are very welcome, I need to progress :) Thanks
  13. Hi George That's a cool customized birthday card :) Great job ! Did you paint the shading over the suit or did you use gradient ?
  14. Hi rcmos11 Why don't you use the lasso tool to select the inner shape without antialias selected ? You can fill this selection with your specific color.
  15. Oval, can I ask you something ? If working with Illustrator files is so important for you, why don't you stay with Adobe products ? If your expectation from another software from a different company is to continue to work without any change, I think you're missing a point. In an ideal world, Affinity product shouldn't become 100% compatible with Adobe file format but Affinity file format should become a new standard for professionals, with Adobe ones. We can clearly read your frustration with those problems but Serif has some terrific products, but different ones. Even if Adobe is a reference (being around for 25 years helps a bit) I'm not expecting AD or AP to be a perfect clone of their products, which means working differently, different logic in the tools and... different format files to work with. Just my 2 cents.
  16. :D Good one May be the ball would be nicer if less symmetrical.
  17. In fairness, we are talking of 1.something versions, so we still have a huge progression ahead. I also know that some points are already on the to-do list. But more than a global critic, and taking in account that I'm personally already very satisfied with the two apps, I see CartoonMike's post as an interesting analysis and a good start for improvements and new features to come.
  18. Very well done banditknight. I like it. Good luck for the contest
  19. I was about to ask the same kind of question. There are lot of threads about importing/exporting Adobe files here but what about the other way ? Do Serif has plans to make Affinity file format open ? It would be a great feature at least for open source projects like Blender as Deyson mentioned or Gimp.
  20. That's interesting. I should give a try to this technique and see what I can get from it.
  21. Good point to Malcolm, it's interesting to see the difference. And we can see it's huge ! I have to say it gives a bit of a "waxy" appearance. Perfectly fine in the distance but would you go that far on a high resolution pic ? Thanks for sharing.
