  1. Thanks that worked fine, I forgot about filling it with a color first. Thanks Gerard
  2. Hello, I just made a new pen path around one of the windows on the car file and tried the Select>Select from layer, nothing happened. The only way I can get the marching ants from a pen path is to use the pen tool selection. To keep the pen path I made an extra copy in the layers panel. I wish there was a pen path panel. Thanks Gerard
  3. Hello, I did a pen path around a car to remove the background, once I select the path and make it into a selection the pen path disappears? Is there a way to keep the path after making it a selection? Thanks Gerard Car.afphoto
  4. Thank You for your reply, I have deleted 2.2.1 for now and replaced it with 2.2.0 and it has gone away. When I opened 2.2.0 the new version window came up, so I will update again to the latest version and see if it comes back. If it does I will send you my Affinity Publisher file. Thanks Gerard
  5. Hello, I uninstalled Affinity Publisher 2.2.1 and reinstalled it, but my text frame problem is still there. The file I made is the only one open it has 2 text frames with some text and it will not justify left no matter what setting I pick. I am going back to 2.2.0 for now to see if that goes away. Thanks Gerard Text Frame No Justify.afphoto
  6. That last part on the right with the artistic text has nothing to do the controls in the file. It was cut and pasted from a different file. Thanks Gerard
  7. Hello, I have the latest Affinity Publisher 2.2.1 for Windows and I'm having some text frame problems. I've attached a file, the first part on the left is my settings on my page with nothing selected on my page, but some of the fields are populated?? The text frame in the middle is what happened when I made a text frame and did not type anything?? The part on the right is what happens when I try to use the artistic text tool, the first letter is big followed by little letters, they should all be the same size?? Should I delete the Program and Reinstall? Thanks Gerard Text Sample.afphoto
  8. carl123, Thank you for your response. They are always more than one way to do things in a program, some are faster and better than others. My concern was that highlighted text in the program makes it active and whatever you do to that text, it should only affect that text. The Color Picker on the toolbar on the left side did not do that, it affected the whole paragraph. It should have only affected what was highlighted. I know the Color Panel works on the right side. Thanks Gerard
  9. Old Bruce, You are misunderstanding my point! In Illustrator if you have text that is highlighted in a text box if you use the eyedropper to click on a color anywhere on your desktop or anything, it changes to that color you click on. Because it was highlighted just like your b. The color picker was changing the whole paragraph and not the highlighted text like it should. I know how to color text with color, swatches, or character panel, that was not the point.
  10. Old Bruce, I noticed in your response that the b is highlighted and you changed it to green. When I used the Color Picker I thought the same thing should happen, but it doesn't. I guess being highlighted does not work for the Color Picker tool but it does work for the Style Picker Tool. The Style Picker tool changes what is highlighted. You can use the Color or Swatches, or Character on highlighted text to change colors. My point was that the Color Picker tool was changing the whole paragraph even though the text was highlighted. All the other ways don't.
  11. Hello, I came across this by accident and wanted to share this to see if this is a bug. Affinity Publisher 2.2 latest update. I had a small text box on my page with a bold heading and some lines of copy under the heading. I wanted to just change the color of the heading so I highlighted just the heading text and used the Color Picker to sample another color that I wanted but it changed the color of the whole paragraph, not just the highlighted text? But if you highlight just the heading in the paragraph and use Color/Swatches from the side panel on the right side, it just changes just the color of the highlighted text. Thanks Gerard
  12. After updating to Sonoma OS Beta 2 here is what I noticed so far with the Affinity Programs on MAC. I was able to export a PDF out of all the programs, Designer, Photo, and Publisher but Publisher is the only program that crashed after it exported the file. I've also noticed that Photo and Designer are working fine for me so far. Affinity Publisher is working fine for only doing certain things. None of the menus on either side can be changed or clicked on. Affinity Publisher is the buggy one for now. Thanks Gerard
  13. I recently installed Sonoma Mac OS 14.0 Beta on my iMac, with the Affinity programs installed, I noticed that the only program that crashed was Affinity Publisher 2.1 The program would work fine, you could save files but , the second the screen would change to another program the program would crash. Today I installed the new updates to 2.1.1 for all the programs, Designer, Photo and Publisher, the programs seem to be working fine now, no more crashing. I know Sonoma is just out and is in beta for now but I wanted to give it a try, so far so good. Thanks for the New Updates. Gerard
  14. Publisher 2.1 Windows , Open a file , the little missing fonts pop up when you open the file says you are missing fonts, then it goes away. In my file it said I was missing one font, but when you go to the font manager there were a lot more fonts missing, not just one?? Is this a bug? Thank You Gerard
