  1. Now RAW files are working from the Photos app, this makes this request even more pertinent. Please consider this for a future revision although I concede it would likely be a big undertaking.
  2. I see you can now select source files from Photos which is great but you need to go in and select each image individually. The ability to select multiple items in one go would be much quicker for the user.
  3. I notice the vignette effect is quite subtle and needs to be pushed quite hard to get the desired effect. I realise this makes it appear more natural but often you will want it darker for creative reasons. You can stack a couple of vignette adjustments to make it darker but it would be good if the effect was stronger to begin with as it seems the adjustment control has a lot of range to allow for this.
  4. I've tested various PNG files with transparency last night after the latest release and have had no issues with them. I can add multiple different files into one image and transparency is always preserved.
  5. Thanks MEB. I updated earlier this evening and also started beta testing. Is the App Store version identical to the beta build - they both show 1.6.2? I ask because I'm getting a lot of app crashes when trying to share back to Photos.
  6. Thanks MEB. I see the RAW issue appears to be resolved internally and is in testing. Will the PNG issue be resolved soon too?
  7. It would be good to have an option on the home screen to quickly select multiple images and delete instead of having to bring up the context menu individually and confirm each deletion.
  8. Hi MEB. I wanted to question the ability for Photos to send a PNG to a third party app. I have three images I have saved in Photos as a PNG with a transparent background to use for watermarks. I use the workflow app as a way to batch process photos to a specific size and add one of these images as a watermark and the transparency is preserved. I have also just tested this with the Pixelmator app as well and again, I can add multiple PNG files from Photos as layers and the transparency is still preserved, all the way to and including a final exported image back to Photos. It appears to me that PNG files with transparency can be opened from Photos into a third party app with the transparency preserved.
  9. This is why I would urge the developers to look at the likes of Photogene or even Polarr apps on the iPad. Photogene in particular nails it in how it lets you browse the camera roll and edit images without the need to import each image individually. This also lets you batch process files by selecting the images you have edited and export with some global settings such as image dimensions, file format and watermarks.
  10. I'm a little confused by this. At first I was genuinely shocked there was no export to camera roll option but I see on the export page there is a share option which will let you save the edited file to the camera roll. Just wondering why this is a separate option on the export page and I'm assuming this will work for most people.
  11. Didn't know if you had seen this or not but it is the video guides for the iPad version: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/40981-official-affinity-photo-ipad-tutorials/
  12. I'm enjoying Photo for the most part but have the following wish. The ability to use the Photos app as a catalog i.e. from within AP, you can open the camera roll of the iPad and open images directly without the need to import first. Any changes made to the image are saved within AP but you then have the option of saving these changes back to the camera roll (photos app) or exporting as a new image. This also opens up the door for batch exporting. Consider the following example: I import 200 wedding photos onto the iPad. Currently if I wanted to work on these images in AP, I would need to import each one individually, make any changes and then export each one individually. With the feature I am requesting, you could browse through all 200 images without the need to individually import each one. This makes it much faster to work through all 200 images and make any edits. Now when complete, you can select all 200 images in AP and export as a single operation with some global settings such as resize, sharpen or adding a watermark. A couple of apps I use today already offer this way of working and it is much quicker than importing individual images. The apps for reference are Photogene and Polarr - both available on the App Store although it appears Photogene has been abandoned as it hasn't been updated in a couple of years.
  13. Creating a new stack or focus merge as an example only appears to be possible from a cloud source. I'm genuinely surprised this can't be done using the photos app as a source. Is there any particular reason for this and will this be a future option?
  14. Yup, was hoping this would be in beta by now so we would offer some feedback and identify any issues. The videos posted previously certainly appeared to be a late alpha build at the very least.
  15. Now that would be an awesome prospect. If Apple are looking for apps to really highlight the iPad Pro range, this has gone to be one of the very top solutions.
  16. Looks nice but I like the idea of photos being imported into a catalogue instead of multiple file locations.
  17. I hate asking such questions but this app is just too anticipated on the iPad. Is there even a rough eta on the beta?
  18. Please be soon. This is one of those rare apps that would make the iPad Pro a real asset!
  19. Yup, definitely lacking but better than the app you linked to imho.
  20. Try Photos and the free 'Open In' app. This lets you use Photos as your management software but you can pass any image out to Affinity Photo to edit and then save back into Photos. It won't cost you anything to experiment with. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/open-in-external-editor-support/id1054519713?mt=12&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
  21. For iPad apps, look up Astropad or Duet Display. They work best with the Apple Pencil but you can still use a passive (cheap) stylus or your finger to draw on the iPad inside of the Affinity apps.
  22. I'm excited by the prospect of a Photo beta. Got both iPad Pros and this would for me be the first true professional class of app for the iPad.
  23. I too would be up for beta testing on iOS. A quick question, will the 9.7" iPad Pro be supported?
