Regarding the new shadow/lights algorithm, I am not sure if the "lights" part is improved in comparison to the last version. It still doensnt darken only the highlights but also some middle lights and leads to a rather shady picture. Shadows is quite fine.

For comparison reason, it would be nice if we had the possibility to install the beta and the official version in parallel.

Yup, shadows is a huge improvement over the previous version in develop with results more similar to the Photo persona. Good job. Highlights does seems to affect mid tones a little more than I would like so you need to be very conservative with its use.

  2. Just to add to this thread, I was doing work on an image at the weekend and trying to judge the feather on the selection so I could apply a blur to the background to isolate the foreground subject. This inability to get any sense of how the feather looks is a real problem imho. I need to set the feather then select a blur and set the amount then review the output then undo the blur and redo the feather and repeat until I am happy. Sure, it is possible to do it in this trial and error way but the simple ability to see the resultant feather in a mask would make life so much easier and save time.

  3. If you want a single cloud provider for both platforms then you would need to consider something like iCloud, Box, Dropbox etc.

If you want to retain the KnowHow cloud as part of the process then you could use that with your Laptop purely as a backup for all the original photos. You can also upload the photos directly from the SD card onto the iPad and work with the photos locally in Affinity Photo and then share these to one of the other cloud providers to share or plug your iPad into the Laptop and copy the photos directly to the Laptop. A little long winded but at least it lets you utilise your existing KnowHow cloud for archiving and the iPad for editing.

  4. Regarding Testflight downloads, I believe they pull down the full image whereas normal app store updates only pull down the changed assets. Is this what you are noticing? E.g. everytime you update the AP beta via Testflight, you pull down ~ 1GB but if you just updated the normal version of the app via App Store, you may actually only pull down ~ 50MB depending on how much has been changed.
